The udu is an idiophone talking drum from Nigeria and Ghana. The udu is a vase-like claypot with a two holes. It’s played by tapping, and moving your hand over the pot’s hole. And the sound the udu can make are of great variety. The clay pots were originally used to hold water, grain and honey by igbo women. But eventually developed into an instrument by the women, played in ceremonies
