He had thought  that their reasoning was painfully obvious, but, clearly, it was going right over everyone's heads. Canada started once again, much calmer than his southern counterpart. "We decided that, since America is powerful and I have plentiful amounts of resources and land, we would form a single, united country. We will adopt a true representative democracy with no political parties, an official president and presidential council, and they are all to be elected by the people. We will be calling ourselves the United Canadian-American Republic, or the UCAR." "Of course, there's a bit more to it than that," America cut it, "But the rest is none of your concern." "I'm pretty sure that is something that we need to know!" a voice shouted somewhere in the room. "If not for ourselves then for the safety of our people!" The nations in the conference room commenced their constant arguing, now fueled by the fear of two of the world's biggest countries becoming the biggest country. Canada was trying fruitlessly to calm them, and America was focused on just calming himself down. While the anger of some nations was annoying, his was apocalyptic. He heard a voice raise itself just enough above the others for him to catch it. "The git must not have been competent enough to even survive by himself for long before crawling back to someone else for help." England. Of course it was his former colonizer who would be degrading him over their decision to unite as soon as he found out. That comment cut the last thread that connected the blue-eyed nation to sanity. He launched himself over the conference table and grabbed a handful of messy blond hair, shoving the end of his Colt against the other's temple. "Say it again," he growled softly, darkly. Power dripped off of his every word, making everyone in the room stop and shudder, even though the command was not directed at them. The only sound in the room was that of the fear-ragged breathing of the past empire. The Canadian once again addressed the audience. "America... isn't who you all think he is. That Hollywood smile, that annoying laugh, the bright, oblivious attitude; it is all an act. And by the looks of it, a very well calculated and executed one." He laughed harshly, making a sound that was not natural on the quiet, softly content nation. "And he had you all fooled." "I don the title of 'superpower' for a reason. So, I suggest you all start to take notice." Alfred stepped away from the trembling man before him, holstering his gun once again. The two nations of the newly formed UCAR left the room in a stunned silence as they walked out of the building. ------ "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to blow up like that. I've ruined it now, haven't I?" Alfred stared at the ground, downcast. They had planned to do this as nicely as possible so as not to cause a mass panic and lose allies, but in the life of a nation, things don't always go as planned. In fact, things rarely ever did. "I know you didn't. And honestly, if you hadn't, I was going to." Canada stepped behind him and wrapped his arms around the other's waist. "We can't blame ourselves for how the rest of them took the news. They're scared." Alfred hummed and leaned his head back against Matthew's shoulder, staring into the sky above. The breeze glanced off of their jackets and they leaned against the railing of their hotel room's balcony. The meeting had been held in Paris, since they had already confided their secret in France and wanted the revealing to be in a relatively neutral place. France couldn't make them leave immediately or detain them, and none of the other countries could do anything about it while they were still in his country. "Hey, Alfie?" Matthew kissed his temple. "Yes, Mattie?" Alfred leaned into the kiss. "Shouldn't we go out and enjoy ourselves in Europe one last time before we have to head home? I know I would at least like some fancy French coffee." Alfred laughed at his fiancé's ridiculousness. "Yeah, let's go enjoy ourselves. But lets just hope no one else has the same idea." "That might be bad." "Correction: That would be a fucking disaster. And aren't you, like, France Number Two or something?" Canada rolled his eyes. "Yeah, and you're England the Second." Alfred shot him a half-hearted glare. "Am not." "Are too~" "Fine then." America turned around and stole a quick kiss. "Then who's a better kisser, me or England?" Matthew smirked and pulled the other into a deeper kiss, running his hand through the smaller nation's hair. "Well, who's better, smart guy, me or France?" America flushed for a second. "Do I even have to answer, beautiful?" Matthew tilted his head in consideration. "Mmm, no, I guess not. Now, how about coffee?" Alfred tangled their hands together. "Sure, babe. Anything for you." Canada couldn't help but kiss him again. Let's just hope we can be happy before the world comes crashing down around us.
