Please share some of your marvey headcanons! (not limited to d/s hcs)
Oh my goodness. So many thoughts. Get ready lol
I think Mike and Harvey are probably my favorite pairing in any fandom. I love them as people, I love them together. Their flow just makes sense.
Canon, them sending Mike to Seattle.. That's fine, it sucked, super sucked, but it's fine. Mike was the same person when he came back, but a little more skilled. Season 8 and 9 I kinda feel like ruined Harvey's (And Donna's, but lets focus on marvey) character. I know that's not the popular opinion, but damn, I was disappointed.
I 1000% believe Harvey needs a helping hand in processing and accepting that he's allowed to have emotions. He couldn't handle it when Mike or Donna 'left', this happens when they were just working in another part of the building. (Also when they left the firm, but why when they were only a few offices away?) Yes, they would see each other less, but it wasn't like never again. Harvey still couldn't handle it well. He handled even worse when he tried to suppress and deny that.
But Harvey is a realistic person. He doesn't buy into fairytales. He saw his dad's fall apart young, then sees cheating and divorce all the time. He dates and goes out trying to find this love, but he keeps getting hurt
Harvey needs to be someone who is patient, because Harvey loves HARD. When Harvey falls, he falls with everything. He will do anything and everything for those people.
He did this the most for Mike.
He fought the hardest for Mike.
He risked everything he had for Mike.
Mike needed to wake the fuck up.
Mike needs something to force him to prioritize. If had a person to focus on, he did better. He stepped his game hard each time he had a person to help. Trevor all the time (toxic). People at the firm (Harold. Louis. Rachel.) His grandmother, the reason why he even took the job. He wants to take care of someone.
Mike does his best work when he has someone to take care of. Keep his hyperactive brain from doing ridiculousness. Trevor was like his wake-up call to do this right or don't do it all.
When he moved to Seattle, he moved to help the smaller people. He came back in season 9 more mentally trained. He came back to pick a fight with his mentor, the person who gave him all the tools to be the best at outsmarting people. He wanted to show Harvey he could handle whatever Harvey could throw at him. And he did win (until Samantha came in and cheated).
I feel like Harvey was just waiting on Mike to get his shit together.
Now, I wrote dom Mike and sub Harvey before I even saw the finale season. I hadn't seen Mike's change yet, but you could see it coming. Here's my thoughts..
Mike took control more often in cases with Harvey, he voiced his opinion more ease instead of that cockiness. You see Harvey giving more conversation and less asserting his dominance. You see Harvey getting more vulnerable and Mike getting more control over his emotions. This starts happening mostly after Harvey and Mike get back together with the "back where you belong" moment.
Harvey enjoys feeling a rush. Intense excitement and feeling like he won. He's said so bluntly and showed it with his high-risk moves all the time. That feeling of almost getting in trouble, but not quite. He likes that 'did you see what I did? What are you going to do about?' feeling.
Brat. Super smart lawyer brat.
Mike thinks 90% of Harvey’s comments are fun and amusing. Which is what Harvey wants his person to think, he wants to play around. However, not everyone can keep up with the references, the jokes, the banter, and know when it's an insult disguised to be funny. Plus, when the lawyer game kicks in.
Harvey can keep Mike busy and focused.
Mike can keep Harvey from going too far.
