Itâs been years but every now and then I remember Yume Nikki and like being really into it and Now I need to figure out if Uboachan is still active because itâs been years and I want know if one of the threads I followed religiously ever had a conclusion.Â
HEY PINK you know it's me, bleet. In response to that poster about leaving uboa because of "nitpicking": I never formally left uboachan or ever said I was leaving! I'm a mod on their discord chat. I've posted to /og/ my non ynfg games, but otherwise I don't post under my name unless needed. I haven't had anything to show uboa since fc so I don't name*** on there, but I still keep tabs on it. I love uboachan, but I have an adult life and a fiance now so I'm on the DL ( â-^ )b
Now u kno
And aww, I didnât know you got a fiance, congrats!!! :D
The YN/RPG fandom on here ought not be freaking out considering how there are plenty more forums in the sea which are specifically dedicated to these topics. It might be a good thing overall, as the YN fandom hasn't been super active lately. Why not try out Uboachan to quench your thirst? For Mado?
Youâre not wrong. However, if you want to advertise your game aside from niche areas, youâre stuck either on the pain in the butt layout of Facebook, tweeting small updates on Twitter, or hoping Google picks up your wordpress/blogspot/whatever on itâs search when someone types in âNew gamesâ. They can be used wisely, but you know, sucks when one site you could organize things with tags & make longpost goes down in popularity.
Iâm not sure if Uboachan is right for a lot of users as while itâs a chill chan board, a lot of tumblr users are too normie to post there, whether itâs being driven off by the format or driven off by the harsher speech of chan boards (tumblrâs mean too but the two userbases would clash to say the least, and Iâm certain you know why).  Uboachan is also pretty dead, thereâs maybe like 5-10 active users with the rest being lurkers, and a lot of devs of more recent have left them for other sites. Hell, the people who would be comfortable using Uboachan here on tumblr probably lurk or post there (or the discord, which is somewhat separate from ubuu) already. Basically Iâm gonna assume more people are gonna hide out on Reddit or other fan communities before they go back to uboachan. Besides, I know a few devs who used to post on uboachan and decided not to go back so I donât think youâre gonna win them over either OTL
If you do want to help out with translating things or any of Uboachanâs other cool projects, nowâs always a good time to help. Itâs also a good place if you just enjoy chan stuff, or donât mind brutally honest opinions on things you make (or shitposting). Up to you guys! :0

Uboachanâs fangame archive has moved
The Yume Nikki fangame archive has moved here permanently because of technical issues.
The project currently hosts 244 games(534 versions)
Uboachan has now a new official âownerâ
I thought itâd be cool to say something about this, after many years of service as the head admin of Uboachan, Seisatsu decided to take a break and now the boards will be managed by Writer. Sei will still be part of the staff, though.
The reasons for this were clear, the boards were kind of out of control because of continuous waves of new posters ranging from incels to frogs and wizards bringing multiple forms of hostility and racism.
Needless to say, this was stressful for Sei, he was definitely not perfect, but he did his best and worked really hard.
Even though I donât post there now for similar reasons I made my first steps as developer in Uboachan and my team was born there, and our translations team is still hosted in there. I wish the best of luck to Writer and I hope he guides the site to a more chill place.

Sorry Iâm quite new but what is uboachan if you donât mind me asking?
An image board in the spirit of 4chan and others like it that focuses on Yume Nikki fangames with about maybe 10-15 active users. Theyâre chill in the sense they donât run out and attack people, just insult each other and everything else because you know. Some of their members help run the wiki, while others have focused on translating dojinshi and archiving every single yume nikki fangame ever made, along with various versions of said fangames (that download is H U G E). They do a decent amount of good for the fandom, and a decent amount of being negative and complaining about things but hey. Basically you donât need to go there unless youâre trying to figure out how to install a game, are looking for resources on creating your own, wanna see some yume nikki history, or are ok with chan culture.
Now you know!
