@ubiytsa sent 🙋 + self-care
self-care? don’t know her.
you’re not going to find bubble baths or coloring books on faina’s self-care list. she still needs to establish the ability to... well... take care of herself. sure, she’s great at survival. she knows how to keep herself alive. but to function as an independent person? she wasn’t raised to be a person. she was a tool, a weapon. something that was maintained and controlled by others.
it’s probably a combination of factors that make routine so crucial to her being able to function, whether its a holdover of her completely institutionalized training or her neurodivergent tendencies, a good routine does wonders for her. a set time to wake up, a morning routine of hygiene and breakfast, set hours to do specific tasks, daily exercise, a real lunch and a real dinner, evening shower and a specific bedtime.
when she’s able to pull this off, she’s usually in a better mood, slightly less paranoid, and more willing to interact with others.
but if she gets knocked out of that routine, usually by nightmares leading to sleep aversion, she starts to spiral, overuses caffeine to stay awake, forgets to eat, completely cuts herself off. she starts to sink into a survival mode and it’s hard to get back on track.
