In theatre Ryder is something which has been requested from the performers, a good example is when a band asks for things in their dressing room. Particle things are usually requested like towels bottles of water before going on stage and alcohol for when they come off stage. As a particle joke the performer often asks for random items or even animals to test the person who is getting all of the things. So all together a Ryder is something that a performer requests. This means a technical Ryder is all the technical things the performer needs, for example a band might have guitar, drums and keyboard player, and this means they will need certain items if it’s a small set up then I would recommend: Two top Speakers, one maybe two subs, small mixer, and monitor for the drums. You would also need four jack to XLR’s for each instrument to go into the small mixer, as well as four XLR’s for the speakers and monitor. A tech Ryder depends on how many instruments, vocals, monitors and how big the setup is. For example a big national theatre will have a different Technical Ryder to a local band in a pub. In our task we have been given £2000 to complete a Technical Ryder for a band in a pub set up who have no equipment at all except the instruments and two amps for the guitars.Â
