Having Gracefulshipping feels again so I decided to draw some of the Gracefulshipping kids around the block.

I did a quick sketch of her design since it’s one I’ve had in mind for a while now:

- She’s Sonia and Nessa’s only child and is an aspiring scientist like her mother and great-grandmother. I can see her focus being on marine pokémon thanks to all the time she spent with Nessa’s pokémon and by the water growing up.

- She’s got a fair amount of admirers, but dislikes the attention since she’s sure they’re all only interested in her for superficial reasons like her looks or because her parents are famous. She’ll shut down anyone who seems like they might be a fan which has led to her getting a bit of a reputation for being “cold” (also thanks to her RBF lol.)

- Her best friend is Nasrin (Leon/Raihan/Piers) and the two have known each other since childhood since their parents of course are all friends. Nasrin is also fairly serious like Susanna is, so they get along well and often will hang out together when Nasrin’s not busy training to try and beat Champion Victor.

- Her starter is a Feebas she caught with her mothers’ help in the lake behind her great-grandmother’s house on Route 2. I thought it would be cute for her to befriend one after watching the Twilight Wings episode focusing on Nessa. Susanna doesn’t battle, though, so her Milotic is more of a research assistant. She’ll often ride Milotic in the water while studying aquatic pokémon in their natural habitats.

Natalie is the only child of N and Hilda

She has Hilda’s dark brown hair and N’s eye color (which is like... green/blue/gray)

Her birthday is September 18, which is a reference to the day that Pokemon Black and White were released in 2010.

She and Cinna (Cilan and Burgundy’s son) are actually cousins, but only through marriage. This is possible due to N’s adopted sisters, Anthea and Concordia, marrying Cilan’s brothers Chili and Cress.

Natalie enjoys helping at her family’s pokemon rehabilitation center in Accumula Town, which is run by Hilda, N, Anthea and Concordia.

Natalie’s starter pokemon is her Zorua that she nicknames Zora. Her other Pokémon are currently a Stoutland and a Sawsbuck.

Natalie has the same ability as her parents to read the hearts of Pokémon. When she learns that Marissa has a similar ability in reading the hearts of dragons, she gets excited and befriends her quickly.

Natalie’s trainer class is called a Pokémon traveler; it’s an unofficial name for trainers who are just traveling across the regions without officially registering to compete in any leagues or competitive circuits.

Part 110 Facts About Sage Oak

Sage has a full profile already, so these facts will be more trivia that can’t be found there.

Sage is the second son of Green Oak and Red Aoyama. He was born on March 8, 3620, three years after his older brother, Roy.

Sage’s goal to become a Gym Leader is actually in direct response to Roy having the same goal. Sage thinks that Roy doesn’t have what it takes to be a successful Gym Leader, so he wants to become one as well and prove that he can do it better than his brother can.

As such, he’s been bothering his Aunt Leaf about inheriting the Viridian Gym from her, though her response is usually “I’ll think about it when you’re older” or “If you think I’m retiring any time soon, think again, kid!”

He’s childhood friends with both Scout and Alton, his traveling companions. He’s known Scout longer, since they’re both from Pallet and the same age, but he’s closer with Alton since the two have more in common.

He and Alton both vent to each other about whatever problems they have with their parents. Neither are particularly estranged from them or anything, but they both feel pressure in their families to succeed in one area or another and are in similar positions being the youngest child (well, Alton has a younger half-sister, but he doesn’t see her as much since he’s raised mostly by Misty rather than Brock.)

Sage has an appreciation for traditional Kantonian culture that’s reflected in his style of dress. While neither of his parents are particularly spiritual or traditional, both of their parents (Sage’s grandparents) were friends with one of Kanto’s major deities. Sage grew up hearing stories about historical eras, spirits, youkai, and the like from his Aunt Yellow and her father, as well as his own great-grandfather Blaine, and developed an interest in Kanto’s history and traditional culture. He loves festivals since to him, they’re somewhat a timeless tradition and depending on the festival, sometimes the Other World is more present than ever. 

Sage’s dislike of urban legends is related to this. He hates how modern myths replace the old ones and will never spread an urban legend he hears, even chiding the one he heard it from for believing rumors like that. Similarly, Sage has a fascination with youkai ever since he found out his own great-great grandmother was a fox youkai. He’s cautious about poking his nose too far into such things, however, since he knows it can be dangerous even for mages like himself.

When traveling in Johto, Sage’s group encounter Branwen, Corvin, and Celeste, all of whom spend a lot of time investigating the supernatural, urban legends, hauntings, and the like (much to Celeste’s chagrin.) Sage disapproves of their actions since he believes they’re just putting themselves and others in danger by messing with things they don’t understand. He’s rivals especially with Branwen, who’s flippant attitude reminds him unpleasantly of Roy. They battle pretty much every time they meet.

Sage has a habit of being very defensive of his interests, especially if they’re more obscure. He tends to criticize more popular trends and media if he happens to enjoy something less popular and will get annoyed if anyone makes the inevitable hipster jokes about this. For example, Sage dislikes the Hoenn Rangers Coexistence Force show only because he likes the older and less popular Kanto Rangers Justice Heroes program, which only had two seasons and barely any merch or dvds exist any more. It’s less that he loves the latter show, and more that he’s bothered that the one he likes more is less popular. He has similar feelings about many other things, like foods, movies, and music.

Despite looking somewhat like Barry, he’s the complete opposite in terms of personality! He’s more laid back (like Lucas) in terms of mannerisms, and tends to come across as listless and unenthusiastic most of the time - he doesn’t see the point in doing things unless they’re important or something he cares a lot about.

He’s a self-styled paranormal investigator who’s interested in ghosts and urban legends - his primary motive for going on a Pokémon journey is mostly just to do some spooky sightseeing, and possibly to capture footage of some real-life ghosts. He also spends a lot of time reading about strange supernatural phenomena and unsolved mysteries.

True to his brand, most of his Pokémon team is made up of ghost types, or mysterious Pokémon with a lot of weird folklore surrounding them (see: the ones with really cursed-sounding Pokedex entries). His starter mon is a Rotom from Lucas’ lab who took a liking to him when he was a kid - I like to think it might even be the original Rotom from the Old Chateau which you can catch in DPPt, since Lucas would’ve canonically caught it when filling up the Sinnoh Dex.

Even though he comes across as lazy and unmotivated on the surface, he’s actually very focused when he wants to be! Aside from being interested in ghosts, he likes music a lot and plays bass guitar as a hobby. Although he’s not as interested in battling as some of his friends, he’s also very knowledgeable about Pokémon moves and follows the League tournament very closely - he likes analysing all the different strategies and trying to predict who’ll win each battle.

Alice is the adopted daughter of Candice and Zoey.

She’s still in the early development stages, so I don’t know much about what she looks like.

I DO know that she’s a Top Coordinator.

Her starter is a Glameow like her mother Zoey, although hers evolves into a Purugly.

When Alice’s Purugly gets picked on for being too “ugly” for contests, Alice decides to specifically train Pokémon who are seen as unconventional choices. This is basically her way of nicely flipping off the jerks who insulted her Purugly.

Going off that—she calls her Purugly “Purlovely.” Because her Purugly is beautiful and she’ll fight anyone who says otherwise.

Alice was the first to notice that Danielle was struggling to be a decent coordinator, while her sister Katelyn had a knack for it despite challenging gyms. She’s the main reason behind Danielle and Katelyn switching their paths.

Alice and Andrea (Volkner and Jasmine’s daughter) are friendly rivals.

Alice has participated in Musicals in Unova and Showcases in Kalos to help develop her skills as a Coordinator.
