Here's some underwater viewing of some really interesting sharks and rays! This exhibit has miniature versions of familiar species. The sharks that look like hammerheads are actually bonnethead sharks! They are very closely related to hammerheads, but as you can see, they are much smaller. The specialized heads of bonnets and hammers alike is believed to help them sense the electricity of their prey better. All living things give off electricity, and sharks can sense this and use it to hone in on their target. There are also lesser devil rays, aka mini mantas! Like the bonnetheads, they are very closely related to a larger, similar animal - the manta ray. You may also see a blacktip reef shark or two swimming around. • • • #bonnetheadshark #devilray #minimantas #mobula #mobularays #hammerheadshark #manta #mantaaquarium #seaworld #seaworldorlando #seaworldcamp #swomigos #sharks #education #electricity #electroreception #sharkeducation #replacefearwithfacts #stopsharkfinning #ocean #marinelife #typus #typusdata #rays #elasmobranchs #cartiligenousfish #fish #aquariums #oceanconservation #conservation
