I've set up my AAC so that I can play elevator music while I'm typing to fill the empty space:

I'm gonna see if this setup discourages people from trying to guess what I'm going to say while I'm typing. Typing talk has an option to duck audio from other sources so the words can be heard and I've used the in-built equaliser in musicolet to reduce the music volume a bit, so this setup should work quite well. I don't really want to have to repeatedly tell people over and over to stfu so I've decided to see if I can use some phycology so I don't have to. I press play to indicate I have something to say, and pause it when I'm done. I chose elevator music bc 1) it already indicates waiting and 2) I think it's funny. I likely won't use it with strangers yet as I'm still quite anxious about using aac with them but I think it'll help with one of my friends who interrupts me (not malicious, she wants to be helpful and has memory issues so she forgets I ask her not to).
It won't work with my gf sadly, the song gets stuck in her head, but we're working on ways to indicate I'm typing/done that she can pick up on and that feel better for me.
