Types of Essays

The type of essay relies on what the writer requires to convey to his/her reader. There are usually 4 types of essays. Let's have a look at them.

Narrative Essays: When the writer is describing an incident or story throughout his/her essay. The purpose when writing narrative essays is to include the reader in the story as the reader was right there when it happened. So make them as clear and true as possible. 1 way to make this possible is to obey the principle of ‘show, don’t tell’. So you must include the reader in the essay.

Descriptive Essays: Here the writer will describe a point, an object, an incident or possibly a memory. The writer must paint an image through his words. One clever approach to do that is to bring out the abilities of the reader. Don't just depend without hesitation yet, in addition, include alternate faculties of smell, contact, sound and so on. A clear essay when done well will make the reader feel the feelings the writer was feeling right now.

Expository Essays: In this type of essay a writer shows a decent study of a subject. To write this type of essay, the writer must have genuine and broad information about the subject. There are sub-types of essay like effect essays, cause and contrast essays and so on.
