Hello again, dear secret santa! Why yes, I do! In fact, I read dcmk fics a few times a month! My favourites? Well, that’s hard to pick, because I’ve read so many and I love most of them! But being the idiot I am, I don’t keep track of them 😭. Hmm, let me see...

I would pick this one as one of my favourites because it’s the one that got me started on reading more fanfics: Dream... Or Not by @akai-no-tsuki. It was also what made me love and seek more SI fanfics.

If not that one then these: Going Down because it isn’t only focused on Shinichi/Conan but on Kogoro and others (I mean, I love Shinichi but there aren’t that many fics focusing on those around him), and also because a deaf character is involved (just one chapter) and also being useful to the police, which I love! Also Victim: Kudou Shinichi because angst.

One-shots: Playing the Fool and The Ally You Never Had because damn it, after having been put to sleep by darts for god-knows-how-many times, Kogoro would have figured out the oddity (and also being immune to the darts) by now but nooooo, Aoyama had to make Kogoro remain that dumbass detective no one can rely on except the very few times it actually counted! *sighhh*

Biggest NOTP?

Umm... I don’t really ship adult-child like ConanAyumi or same-sex couples like KaiShin/ShinKai because it’s not canon, and cos it’s really weird, awkward and more importantly, feels wrong... I also don’t really ship CoAi or ShinichiShiho cos although Haibara may feel something for Shinichi, he doesn’t feel for her romantically. And it would be too rushed for Shinichi to switch from Ran to Shiho, and you know how Shinichi and Ran feel for each other, even if Ran doesn’t know about Conan, yet...

When and how did you first start reading/watching DCMK?

Okay, I’ve never done this thing before, so here I go. I think I randomly picked the DC Vol 1 up to read in the library at my old school around Spring 2008 (I think? I was in Year 7). Back then I didn’t fully understand English, so I just looked through them the first time. But I think that once I went through the first chapter I got a bit hooked (I was new to manga and anime at the time). I sometimes read it afterwards because I was trying to understand what was happening (cos English is my second language), and that I really liked it. I think that a few weeks to a few months I started looking it up, and I think I found out that it was really popular, and started watching DC Anime subbed online before reading the manga a few years later. Now, I am patiently waiting for new chapters. A few times a month or so I watch DC anime because look, AO! When I truly stopped watching Anime and switched to reading Manga was when the style changed. I think it was two years ago or so? The style was really weird to me...
