What are each character’s greatest fears?
Patricia - Rufus - She was very traumatized after being kidnapped by Rufus. She was already very vulnerable and dealing with gas lighting and Jason abandoning her. She is pretty embarrassed it messed her up so bad and Jerome is the only one who knows it still gets to her since he experienced the same thing. She lied when she said feet, she's not scared of them.
Eddie - Loosing people - He lost his dad when he was young when he left him. This messed up his childhood and caused him to take out how it effected him by being a bit of a bad boy. He also lost Patricia twice, once when she left him in America and again when she was a sinner. He has everyone back now but the idea of loosing someone is stuck with him as a huge fear.
Amber - Bugs - No, Amber isn't just being a prissy little girl. She hates bugs for a real reason. She still thinks about the sand fly being held up to her and how terrifying that is. It's left her scared of bugs and what they could do to her, even the non-threatening bugs.
Alfie - Being Trapped - Alfie did get over his claustrophobia but that's because his claustrophobia was a part of his being trapped fear. If he can choose to leave the small space he has no issue, it's when he gets trapped he can't stand it. Stems from being stuck in the cellar. Things like the crawlspace and chimney were terrifying for him.
Fabian - Failure - He feels the weight of the world on him when they're doing things being the "smart one" and he knows his failure could cause lives to be lost. He's terrified of being the reason why they fail and feeling responsible for the consequences. This also translates to less threatening things, like grades and etc.
Nina - Death - Nina's parents dying has lead her to be terrified of people around her dying. Growing up with her Gran she was always scared she'd loose her too. It's not really herself dying, it's those around her. The thought paralyzes her and is the reason she didn't want more people involved in season 2.
Joy - Cults - Anything culty gets to her. She was very traumatized by the season 1 cup building ceremony and then faced more trauma in season 3's ceremony. She can't even stand certain organized groups due to it, always fearful it's more than it seems.
Jerome - Being broke - He saw the way money messed up his life. The fact they didn't have much money led to his parent's splitting up. It's also the reason his dad committed crime and went to jail. He feels like not having money can ruin everything, and never wants to face that. He feels like if he doesn't have money bad things will happen and is why he's obsessed with money.
KT - Not being accepted - She just wants to be liked. She was scared coming to a new country and dealing with new people, scared she wouldn't be accepted. Then she has to always be scared that her sexuality will cause people to not accept her as well. It's always on her mind and stems from being bullied as a kid.
Mick - Disappointing people - He wants to please everyone. It's why he had such a hard time deciding in season 2 what to do when choosing between mara and his family. He wanted to please both. It's also why he is upset with his bad grades, not winning at sports, and even not being able to keep up his relationship long distance. He wants people to be proud of him.
Willow - Loosing her whimsy - People tell Willow all the time that once she graduates and goes into the real world she won't see things as all rainbows and kittens. She wants to believe she never will stop having a positive outlook on life, but the idea of not scares her. She likes how she is and it comforts her to always think brightly and no longer having that would make her feel lost.
Mara - Getting cheated on again - After Jerome she is very weary. She doesn’t feel like she can trust super easy. That’s why she picks good old dependable Fabian despite hardly knowing him. She can’t be cheated on again, she just can’t, it scares her. She just wants to keep her pride and not be played a fool.
