Hey! I was looking into playing Quidditch at Texas State, what's it like? The actual sport and environment of the team, and do you have any tips for it? Thank you so much!!!
Hey! Always happy to answer questions about quidditch. The actual sport itself is like the running from soccer (if you’re a chaser), the tackling aspects of rugby, all mixed in with dodgeball. TXST quidditch is open to any bobcat who wants to play. We have a Varsity and JV team, along with house (G/S/R/H) teams for less serious games. The team usually practices 2-3 times per week on campus. At this years nationals, we got second place losing to a community team, but we are the best ranked college program.
The team itself is like a big family. Everyone is so dedicated to the club and to each other. It’s a great place to find friends for your university time, and for life.
I would say follow us on Instagram, twitter and Facebook to keep up with what we are doing. I’m pretty sure the handle is txstquiddich for most media. We will be at new student orientations all summer, and closer to the start of fall we will be posting information about when and where our first meeting will be.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
