From Yana:
"During a meeting the development team asked me, 'Leona’s braids are a traditional style, so is it okay to have them undone?' When I replied 'It’s not a problem. In fact, one of his braids is undone in an illustration in the second novel,' they went, 'It's true!?' It's so subtle that no one noticed. 【Toboso】"
From Yana:
Cozywear Grim. Back when it hadn’t yet been decided who would be handling the costume design. On the day of the meeting, both F4 and my company brought several design ideas on the same day. "'Actually, we went a bit ahead and thought up concepts for Grim's cozywear…" "Wait...actually, we did too…" And everyone burst out laughing. He’s a beloved boss.
Yana says that 99% of the time she does not know what kind of merchandise is being made for Twst or when it will release, but last year Aniplex reached out to specifically request that she supervise the design of these "oil in ornaments" with ink-like oil in glass that are to be sold at the upcoming Twst exhibition 🖼️
Notes from Yana: Magestones
What RSA students hold during battles isn't actually a sword, it's a baton (a conductor's baton). It's an item that's separate from their magic-stone brooch meant to reinforce their visual theme, and it allows for more customization in appearance than a magical pen. Trein uses the same brooch-style magic stone as RSA, since I imagined both following a traditional style. (source)
Crewel also carries a rod, but he wears his magic stone dangling from a strap, giving off a flashier impression (his personal taste takes priority over tradition).
Vargas's bracelet is also just his own personal preference. I imagine that once they're adults they're free to design their magic stones however they like, so it might be fun to think about how the students will customize theirs in the future. (source)
Also, Idia's magic stone is set in a magical device, but he probably did receive a standard magical pen when he first enrolled. He just took it apart on his own and went all out on modifying it. What a troublemaker. (source)

From Yana:
"A game app born on a small island country is now to be distributed in over 150 countries worldwide as a #Disney animation! To those who play the game and to those who do not, we hope you’ll see their battles through to the end. Do your best, Heartslabyul 🌹"
From Yana, on the ages of the students:
"Twst follows a European/American-style system, so compulsory education is until the age of 16. NRC is considered a 'high school/technical college,' so everyone enters at 16.
In Japan high school enrollment is typically at age 15, but in this case, everyone is one year older.
This means that if you celebrate your birthday during your second year of school, you become an adult (18 years old).
NRC follows the European/American-style system that begins in September. This is the reason why birthdays started in September.
It was briefly mentioned in the story, but Ace is what would be considered 'late-born' in Japan (born in September, the oldest of the first years), while Riddle is 'early-born' (born in August, the youngest in the second year).
In the game, the age/gender of the prefect are not set and there are events like birthdays...(laughs).
The characters don’t refer to each other's ages, but on the official website they are listed as how old they were when the prefect was summoned.
NRC is essentially a technical school. Although there is what is uniformly called a middle school, the systems likely differ depending on a person's country of origin, and there are also a fair number of students who are homeschooled."
From Yana:
The roughs I’ve been creating for the Twst manga, childhood versions and clothing sketches, have been piling up. They are monochrome in the comic, but I actually draw them in full color. I’d be happy if there might be a chance to show the color versions someday ☺️ It seems that the anime team is redesigning with different colors from what I designed for the manga. 【Toboso】
