Twisted from Prince Ali

Spoilers for Chapter 4 and Floyd’s SSR

Okay so I haven’t read Part 4 yet and I don’t know if this has been said before but what if the villain Kalim is twisted from is Prince Ali? Now your first thought might be, Prince Ali wasn’t a villain so you’re wrong, but Prince Ali is a villain to the same degree that the sultan is. He is someone preventing Aladdin and Jasmine being together. What’s worse about Ali is that he was created to be a solution but only made the issue worse. Aladdin wins the heart of Agrahbah and the sultan as Ali, and this brings about a crisis  for him to be the person he has to be or the person he wants to be. The fact that Aladdin tricked everyone is the point of Jafar’s song  (Prince Ali reprise) and is the final motivational factor for why he should be the one to take the throne. 

Now, Kalim does have similarities to the sultan, the fact that he shoves crackers into grim’s mouth (source: wiki) being the most convincing, as well as his SSR on the throne. Yes they are both foolish, but isn’t Prince Ali just as foolish? He walks in to the throne room  and says he’s there to marry the princess, not really asking; he’s just as clueless as the sultan is about Jasmine’s feelings and just as egotistical as any other dumb suitor. Other than his good heart but childlike personality, we don’t know much about the sultan, we know much more about the Prince. 

Kalim is a prince who comes from a rich family who has lots of things and likes to show off, he is easily loved because of his sweet nature and the things he has. While it can be assumed that a sultan has these nice things, the vastness of Ali’s wealth is shown off in his song. The key lines to point out are the ones that say he’s generous and doesn’t charge a fee to view his collections, a zoo of exotic type mammals, and the last verse when it lists off everything he brought when coming. In Floyd’s SSR (no I do not have a reference link) Kalim gives Floyd a really huge magical ruby as a thank you for lending him some notes. He is overcompensating his thanks, just as Ali over-compensates to win the hearts of Agrahba. The whole song is just bragging about all the stuff he has, to get people to like him. And one of the reasons people like Kalim is because of his stuff. Also both of them have others best interests at heart. Klim does these things he thinks are good, and Ali does too. He only put on such a show to impress the princess, it’s what he thought she wanted. That is a difference I see between Kalim and the sultan. Kalim wants to do what feels right but the sultan simply follows the law disregarding what others (jasmine) want.

But I don’t like that~  I don't like the idea that they're good. In the world of Twisted Wonderland or at least at Night Raven College the original villians are prestigious role models. They were successful (implied in Jafar's explanation). So they're closer to how we look at heroes. Also since we experience NRC first hand and the game is focused on them they're closer to protagonists and so RSA are their villians. Their opposition.

I was going to break down all the characters and their flaws and why they’re jerks with reasoning, but like it really just boils down to them being selfish and stubborn, not listening to anyone else. Like Cheshire cat, Ariel, and Herc just kinda do what they want. Aladdin also does what he wants, but I thought Abbu would be a fun choice and he is more selfish. Aroura is a little different cause she doesn’t do anything her her movie, so I rounded that down to being a dumb blonde. If we go with Cheka for Savannah claw or even Timon and Pumba they all could easily fall into lazy and avoiding work, or in extreme cases not caring about others.
