omg it's really not. i mean, it's so fucking furet -- normally i find his writing really engaging but only in relatively small doses. this is just like being smacked in the face with it for 500+ pages. I GET IT, YOU'RE TRYING TO PICK A FIGHT WITH THE MARXISTS. GOOD FOR YOU.

ooh we read this in a class I had last term — I only got halfway through though :( need to finish it sometime. (hope you don’t mind me commenting..)
not at all! and yeah, i'm about halfway through, too -- i just got to the fall of napoleon. i'd already read furet on the revolution and the terror and so i knew roughly what he was going to say. now that we're moving into new territory, hopefully it'll get more interesting.
