3: First book that had a major influence on you

It’s a book that i read for school: The Lion by the french author Jospeh Kessel. I was 11 years old and had to write my first “serious” essay for this book. For the 1st time the realm/universe in which a story took place enthralled me so much that i wanted to be a part of it. I identified completely to the heroine Patricia, her almost supernatural  capacity to communicate with animals and her relationship with King, the lion. The Masai culture and Kenya were to me a revelation: i became obsessed and wanted to travel here but since i was only a child  i had to content myself with borrowing beautiful photography books about the country from the library. This book gives me so many dreams: places where to go, jobs to do etc, it  reshaped my mind and my imagination (incidentally it was also the 1st book to crush my heart because of its end but this point would deserve its own post). 

 6: Public library or personal library? 

Both. They are inseparable for me. I grew up in libraries: being a hardcore introvert and coming from a poor family, it was the only place/passion i could afford for a long time. I used to go once a week until i got enough money to buy my own books. I’m now so obsessed that living in a house without books makes me physically ill/anxious. I buy much more books that i can read and still borrow a lot of books from the library (i have 5 of them waiting for me to read them).   

 7: What is the most important part of a book, in your opinion?

It’s a quite difficult question actually: more than it seems at first. Based on my last experience with books, i’ll say i can read everything but language comes first: i need gorgeous, “poetic” prose first and firemost. It doesn’t matter if the setting feels  incomplete/not rich enough (i can fill the blanks), or if the plot is slow, as long as i has my fair taste of long sentence to absorb and live on. But i also can forgive a story to not meet those expectations if the characters make up for it. For me, a character driven story well with compelling, complex/deeply flawed and tragically human characters will always win my heart. PS: happy and  compeling works too!

Oh my, how many times have you healed my soul during difficult times with the photos and gifs of your fantastic trips to the nearest woods in search of the perfect tree?

I don't count anymore but I owe you so much for that.❤️❤️❤️ I can't say how real it was to imagine myself next to you sipping a good coffee while enjoying the songs of nature, especially birds (but there is also the beach and the river near you).

"Life is really a lot" indeed and "sometimes everything weighs too much", and sometimes it weighs just right also because of people like you.
