A Masked Teen: A New Wearer, Chapter 29
Maria's House. 4 PM
"Hi Maria!" Katelyn greeted with a gentle wave.
"What do you want?" The brunette bluntly asked with a drawl in her voice.
"I wanted to drop by and see, uh, how you were doing? I haven't seen you in..."
"Bye." Maria rudely interrupted as she slammed the front door in Katelyn's face.
"Wait!" Katelyn quickly called out as she saw her chance of success slipping between her fingers. "You're looking much better than when I visited you at the hospital!"
Katelyn waited for a second and then heard the front door creak open with Maria's head slowly poking through the crack.
"You visited me...?" Maria asked in a solemn yet sincere tone. Katelyn nodded as she swiped on her phone to show her a photo of a bouquet of purple hyacinths that she left by her bedside.
Maria looked at her phone for a moment and then raised her head to stare into Katelyn's innocent baby blue eyes. "Do you wanna... come in?"
Katelyn nodded as she entered Maria's house and was led towards a spacious living room that had an enormous TV, multiple pieces of exercise equipment and priceless antiques that were locked behind old cabinets.
"Wow," Katelyn whispered out loud as she took in the magnitude of Maria's family fortunes.
"Don't touch anything. It's my parent's stuff. Sit here," Maria gestured as she took her seat on a gray couch. Katelyn nodded and made her way towards her as she tightly held onto her purse which carried her precious cargo.
Over the next hour, the two attempted to bury the hatchet by getting to know one another. Katelyn talked about her hometown and her family's unexpected move to California for her dad's work while Maria slowly conveyed being stressed out to be Ms. Perfect. She went further and told her that her rocky relationship with Danny tipped her over the edge which set off a chain of undesirable circumstances that got her suspended for the rest of the school year. As the topic changed to school, Katelyn started to update her on what had happened since her absence but the conversation quickly veered towards the pranks that occurred earlier that day.
"Oh yeah, I saw that on my phone! Some whackos pulled an iCarly prank on the entire school," Maria laughed as she acknowledged the reference that Kandy sought to achieve.
"Did others find it funny? It cracked me up when I saw it trending online," Maria continued as her initially cold demeanor thawed and became more inviting towards Katelyn.
"Danny didn't..." Katelyn promptly responded in a low voice. "Actually, we got into an argument about it..." Katelyn continued as she looked down to the floor.
"Oh no..." Maria remarked sarcastically. "Yeah... he's always 'Mr. Serious.'"
Katelyn eyed a sliver of opportunity. "Maybe... we could loosen him up a little," Katelyn hinted as she brought her purse closer to her chest.
"What are you scheming...?" Maria asked quizzically.
"Well... it's still April Fools day. Maybe he just needs a good scare... with something like these," Katelyn said as she pulled out a pair of wooden masks from her purse; one had a neutral expression while the other wore a smile on its face.
Maria curiously looked at the faded green masks and just laughed right at her. "What are those!?" She cackled to herself as she pointed at her worn props.
Katelyn then heard a sultry voice speak up in her ear. "Oh you laugh now. But we'll see who's laughing real soon..."
After Maria calmed herself down, she grabbed one of the masks and dangled it from its mouth hole on her index finger.
"Whatever, what's your plan with these...?" Maria's voice trailed off as she saw a dazzling streak of light emanating from inside its hard interior. She paused and adjusted her grip to hold the wooden prop in the palm of her hands and felt a soothing warmth spread between her fingers.
Off to the side, Katelyn held her breath as she saw Maria's face get curiously closer and closer until the unassuming prop leapt out of her hands and started to burrow itself onto a new face. For the first time in months, the mask was given the opportunity to take a new host and give them the wildest time of their life.
"WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!?" Maria screamed as the mask's wooden fibers started to consume her head as it began to make its way across uncharted terrain.
Unlike its previous host's more heart-shaped face, Maria had a different square-shaped geometry than what it was used to and would need more time to wrap itself around her sun-kissed skin. But more time meant that Maria had a fighting chance to unshackle herself from the squirming green coils that clung to her face. She tried to tug underneath her jaw and pull at the sides of her covered head in order to dislodge its grip. Alas, neither method worked and in a fit of desperation, she pleaded for help as she felt the green mass gain ground and approach the back of her skull. Katelyn heard her cry for help but she continued to stand aside and watch her frenemy be further consumed as its rubbery texture absorbed all traces of her silky brunette hair. To Katelyn, it was like an out of body experience to watch her cherished green partner grow and affix itself onto someone else. Yet, she found herself get hot and bothered as she watched her school bully slowly loose grip on reality and get hopelessly lost in the mask's intoxicating magic.
With the last of the mask's tendrils converging upon her crown, Maria sought to change tactics by scratching and peeling off whatever she can off her sizzling second skin. However, as her nails dug into the mask's cushioned tissue the resulting scratches only left a trail of green ridges that let off beams of neon light. And after humoring its host with her futile attempts, the mask felt it had enough and whipped the struggling Latina into a whirlwind with her in the eye of the storm. Katelyn took a step back and watched the supernatural twister in awe as she imagined herself being thrown asunder. She could recall the countless number of times she was thrown into oblivion as the mask's magic molded and shaped her into whatever form she deeply desired.
After a few seconds, the winds died down and on the glittering couch sat a new lady in green who was once Katelyn's frenemy. She wore a cute black blazer that openly exposed her white button-down shirt that had been tied into a butterfly-shaped knot just above her pierced belly button. On her hips, she wore a short school girl skirt that barely covered the tops of her thighs. Down along her legs, she had a pair of thigh-high socks that snuggly wrapped around her slim legs which led to a pair of patent Louboutins heels. And of course, atop her innocent school girl getup sat a glowing emerald complexion that hugged every inch of her once tan sun-kissed face. Even though the entire transformation took less than a minute, the resulting gal looked as though she spent countless hours getting ready for her movie debut as the star mask wearer for the evening.
Katelyn continued to gawk at the hourglass shaped goddess from afar as the girl opened her teal eyes and materialized a hand mirror to see her new self for the very first time. Since acquiring the mask all those months ago, Katelyn finally had the chance to witness the end result of a transformation that she herself had went through zillions of times before. Only this time, she wasn't looking at herself in the mirror, rather she was in awe the human in front of her who was actively trying to rationalize the irrational transformation that led the magical artifact to latch onto her pores.
The lady collapsed the mirror in her hand with a satisfying "snap" and turned to look straight at Katelyn.
"The name's Maya~" the lady spoke with an innocent yet demanding voice.
"H-how do you feel?" Katelyn asked as she gripped the other wooden mask behind her back.
Maya closed her eyes and deeply inhaled through her newly formed nose, "Amazing~"
Maya clenched her fists as she felt the power of the gods flow through her veins while simultaneously feeling her mortal troubles wash away. In this new form, she could focus on being someone new, someone who didn't have to listen to others, and most of all someone who could do anything she wanted with whomever she wanted. As she exhaled, she heard a tiny voice in the back of her head protest as her old self tried to hang on to whatever remained of the human underneath the green.
But that moment of self-realization was suddenly interrupted as Katelyn dove towards Maya's rubbery face and slammed the sister mask upon her already green complexion. Upon contact, the wooden fibers of the sister mask started to soften and stick itself onto the front of her face as a beam of brilliant light emanated from the contact between the two magical artifacts. The edges of the sister mask grew claws and quickly swarmed and spread throughout her head while digging its own set of tendrils into different regions of her emerald skull. She could feel an immense amount of pressure being applied to each one of her facial features which made everything feel more sensitive. She felt a burning sensation on her nose, a tightening sensation along her cheeks, and around the temples of her head. Even though Maria had only one face to spare, each inch of her ever brutalized skull was being thoroughly used and cultivated to not only fit more magic flesh but also the will of the sister mask.
After a brief period of struggling, Maya's body was thrown into a second tornado that chaotically spun around the room while knocking over and breaking the antiques that sat on the shelves around her. Within her mind, she slowly felt a mind-numbing sense of pressure build up along her temples as she felt her new psyche loose control of itself in favor of whatever the sister mask had in store for her. Katelyn backed herself against a nearby wall and pulled out the controller from her purse to apply the desired settings for her frenemy. As she played with the controller, she could hear Maya moan and groan as the additional pounds of green tissue continued to onslaught her already enlarged head into someone even more zany than before.
And after a minute of being embedded in a more violent storm, Maya emerged from her twister with the sister mask's signature mark on her forehead while retaining the school girl outfit from earlier. Maya then sauntered over to Katelyn and gave a little bow; signaling the end of Maya's free will and the start of Katelyn's control over this valley girl.
Katelyn further pushed some buttons on her controller and walked around her double-masked creation while taking in the result of her pair of masks. Not only was her green complexion a perfect fit atop her square-shaped head but the seam at the back was nowhere to be found. Katelyn approached the back of Maya's head and dug her fingers into her masked flesh and gave it a hefty tug. But after a few seconds of pulling on her tight skin, Katelyn let go and the masked muscle flew back onto her skull and garnered a deep moan from the school girl. With Maria now trapped under not just one but two layers of green flesh, Katelyn felt at ease as her plan was ready to be executed.
"Ready for some payback, Maya?" Katelyn asked as she walked towards Maria's front door.
"Cowabunga Dudette~" Maya smiled with a twitch in her eye.

Danny's House. 5:30 PM
Danny walked out of the shared upstairs bathroom with only a towel covering the lower half of his bare body. His parents were due to arrive home soon and he figured he would wash up early before supper. But as he turned the corner and stepped into his room, he noticed something was off. He thought he had left the nights in his room on before taking a shower but now his bedroom was completely pitch black. And after taking a few more steps in, the door behind him slammed shut and his desk lamp was suddenly flipped on with a familiar face sitting nearby. There in Danny's room sat Katelyn with a mischievous smile on her face and a weird controller in her lap.
"Oh...! H-hi Kat, I didn't know you were stopping by," Danny stuttered as he backed away from the light source.
"Oh. Don't you worry about little old me. You should be more worried about..." Katelyn paused as she pointed towards his closet. The door to Danny's walk-in closet creaked opened and his eyes widened as he saw a green figure in school girl outfit step towards him.
"Miss me?" The goddess asked as she gave him a wink.

"A mere smile can determine a man's fate. It is frightening. Fascinatingly so."
