Try and keep your character’s power level similar to that of other characters, especially if they’re on different sides. It’s not fun for the other people if they don’t have any ability to make an impact with their characters.

If while posting you’re asking yourself “Is it okay for me to assume the other person’s character would do this?” then the answer is no and you should ask the other roleplayer. Don’t powerplay.

Try to not focus the roleplay on your character/your character’s story, unless everyone involved agreed on it. Remember, in a roleplay, everyone is a supporting character, not a main one!

“Jill looked around Bob’s room, trying to see if there’s anything particularly odd about its features.” Bob’s player should then describe what’s in Bob’s room - and if there isn’t anything interesting, say so !
