You thought he would make you a star and look what's happened to you. You're seeing things that aren't there. You can barely move. You're past your prime and your husband is trying to get rid of you, Emilie. Is a death on stage worth the applause?

I don't talk about the Influence v Clarity thing enough with TWEoS (oops), which probably sucks since I think it's really neat for the miraculouses to have two opposing 'passive' effects, but if I do say anything it's that Chat Noir is specifically Clarity because he's the only one who was designed to never be affected by the 'popularity brainwashing' of the earrings. Chat Noir was the only one to never need it to admire Ladybug. Which is especially tragic considering the impetus for Marinette wanting the stardom (that being for Adrien to like her) and the fact that A. he never needed it to begin with and B. his particular adoration was the only one she outright rejected.
That, and it's interesting specifically how those connect to the holders and their memories. Ladybug has Influence and is also subject to her memories being constantly overwritten and/or removed. Chat Noir has Clarity and is subject to being given memories of things that haven't happened, etc.
Ladybug's miraculous is on her ears and she is forced to not listen to others.
Chat Noir's miraculous is on his hand and he is forced to not act.
etc, etc, etc.
Émilie (born Émilie Genevieve Mary Graham de Vanily; 15 August 1962 — 15 March 2004) was a British fashion model who began her career as an actress. She has been regarded as one of the most accomplished and influential models of the 1980s and 1990s, and has been featured in over 800 magazines, including La Mode, Style Queen, and the eponymous Émilie. As heiress to Graham de Vanily Film Productions, she made her acting debut in the 1974 film The Diamond Lady. Émilie went on to star in Andre Bourgeois's Solitude (1979) before signing with Elite Model Management and attracting attention in her runway debut at the Paris Fashion Week SS1979 for Maison de Mode Gabriel [1].
Émilie was one of the most famous women in the world throughout the 1980s and 1990s, and is primarily known for her collaboration with the fashion designer and her husband Gabriel Agreste [2][3]. On occasion, her ubiquity as a fashion icon and symbol for women's growing autonomy in the 1980s has led to her being compared to the likes of Marilyn Monroe and Princess Diana of Wales [4][5][6][7]. Her early and unexplained death in 2004 at the age of 42 further drove these comparisons across various news outlets [8][9][10].
In 2005, she was posthumously awarded "Greatest Female Supermodel of All Time" by viewers of the French television show Le Monde de La Mode. This gendered distinction was implemented that year to accommodate for repeat winner Adrien Agreste, who was awarded "Greatest Male Supermodel of All Time" that same year at the age of 15 [11].
And next on the chopping block: Lukanette! General content warning for misogyny, slut-shaming, homophobia, misogyny, a verbal screaming match, a car accident, misogyny, flagrant misuse of the Miraculous Ladybug cure-wave, did I mention misogyny....
“My Lady?” Chat Noir inquired. “Can I be let down now?”
He assumed being left swinging upside down for ten minutes as retribution for tripping on Ladybug’s yo-yo string was a fair enough punishment. Being hit like a piñata, not so much, but Chat Noir was still optimistic about the situation.
Lucky Lucky Ladybug only grumbled, pushing Chat’s shoulder to make him swing loosely in circles. His bell and the buckle on his tail jingled softly from the movement.
“No,” she finally told him, crossing her arms to punctuate it. “Renared and CARA.PACE are taking care of the akuma. If I let you go, you’re going to get in the way just like last time.”
…Chat could admit that it was not as if that was entirely untrue. He never meant to complicate things, he was just a lot, well, unluckier now that Ladybug had her own team of reinforcements.
“I could just sit and watch!” Chat suggested, his ears perking up. “Maybe offer some jokes? Oh, I haven’t exhausted all of my situationally-relevant puns yet- Ow!”
Chat Noir was trapped in yet another cycle of swinging from the force of Ladybug’s spotted baseball bat.
“No puns.”
“Ach. Verstanden.”
Ladybug thought for a moment. Her, Chat Noir. Her. Chat Noir. Ladybug and Chat Noir. It would’ve been much nicer to have started out with a partner she was actually friends with, she supposed. He had been fine at first, but over time any character quirks would tend to grate on a person. The last thing Ladybug wanted to deal with every day on top of everything else was an annoying person she couldn’t get rid of.
“It’s funny. I’m good luck, and you’re bad luck,” Ladybug commented, tapping her bat against Chat’s arm to line up her swing. “The reason I have to stay back with you is because we cancel each other out. We have to. We’re opposites.”
The next time Chat was swung about looked almost as if he took flight, his head bobbling like a dashboard ornament and bell jangling violently. The blood rushing to his head made the room spin even faster, all axes melding together in some vertigo-induced slurry, up until he felt the blowback of being suddenly halted by Ladybug grabbing onto his bell.
“You know,” she clarified. “Incompatible.”

hooooooooo boy
If TWEoS doesn't have the senti stuff what's stopping me from making the tibet trip a vanity project. What's stopping me from having Emilie and Gabriel fly out to Qamdo in the fall of 1989 with a team of archeologists led by some poor undergraduate who just happened to be one of the only researchers in the world with a speciality in arcane artifacts that are barely even more than legend—
Emilie takes every opportunity to pose near almost anything she finds particularly "exotic", the way she drapes her hand over the baby bump on her stomach already practiced to perfection. Gabriel is collecting every swatch of fabric he can, looking for patterns to copy and iconography to borrow all for a new fashion line: the fashion line that is, in all truth, an alibi. In his head, he's already planning to force the team that's no doubt scouring the mountains into NDAs before they can leave the country—No, kill them if he can. Mlle. Sancoeur all but confirmed his suspicions that what they're looking to bring him are sources of almost limitless power. Nobody that he hasn't given explicit permission to know shall know of it.
Free Tibet gets lip service in the February 1990 Haute Couture exhibition. Emilie models a dress embroidered with pairs of golden fish, but the way she walks makes it obvious that she's truly showing off her 8 months of pregnancy.
Back to basics, baby! Thinking of Adrien's hypothetical modeling history again. Working traditionally is fun, I like playing a little more fast and loose with it
