I’m not one to take sides during the Clouis vs Violentine stuff because I love them both equally. But I wanna clear something up.

Clem. Is. Bisexual.

I see a lot of jokes from the Clouis side about how she isn’t bisexual and that she prefers boys or whatever. Then when people comment about how it’s bisexual erasure, they get called sensitive.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the people you’re calling sensitive are right. It doesn’t matter if it’s a joke or not, it’s still hella rude. It doesn’t matter that you were joking or don’t even believe it, it’s still rude.

Bisexual people are constantly ignored, discarded, and erased in every community. Society believes they either don’t exist, are going through a phase, are actually just gay/straight in denial, etc. And this is prominent in the LGBTQ community too! So when bisexuals have represtation in such a large fictional figure like Clementine, they’re going to want to hold onto that.

Look, I understand the you’re only joking around and you do support bisexual people and acknowledge that Clem is bisexual. But it’s not funny. It’s rude and inconsiderate.

I get that it’s just a joke, it’s a phrase, and she’s a fictional character so why does it matter? It matters because it’s normalizing bisexual erasure. Imagine you are a woman being called sensitive because your contributions are ignored by a male dominated society and you’re rightfully upset about it. That’s the same thing here.

I’ve only seen this on the Clouis side of the fandom but I’m sure some Violetine shippers are the exact same (saying Clem is gay and not into boys).

Clementine is bisexual. Do not make jokes or sarcastic comments that suggest otherwise because it’s really rude to actual bisexual people. And instead of calling them sensitive, simply apologize and explain KINDLY that you are kidding and delete whatever post you had.

Bisexual erasure is a serious issue and shouldn’t be taken lightly, even if it’s just a video game. Y’all need to be more sensitive to this kind of ignorance.
