Can I request some reader defending Sarah from a bully? Thx
OOOO okay okay (this is gonna be a modern au)
They had just moved so Carlos could take a new medical job,
But Sarah couldn't help but wonder if it was worth it.
She had been there for a few months now,
Just trying to get through one day at a time.
It didn't seem to work through.

She just wanted the year to be over.
Luckily, she only had a month left.
Everything seemed to have started a few months prior.
It was her second week at the school,
But knew where was safe to sit in the cafeteria.
Normally, she brought a book,
Or something to fiddle with.
It took one move for her school career, as she knew it, to be over.
Moving her bag to tuck it away.
One of the girls she had class with walking by,
Chatting with her friends,
One of her shoes, snagging on the edge of the bag.
Her bright red Gatorade splashed over Sarah's whole body.
She was wearing a white sundress.
She knew that was the moment any respect for her died.
Sarah wasn't allowed to go home to change.
She suffered the whole day,
And threw her favourite dress in the trash when she got home.
"Oh, be careful," that girl would always say.
"Watch your step around Soppy Sarah."
Sarah was almost positive her name was Becka.
She tried to not care, therefore she didn't need to know her name.
But Sarah couldn't help it.
She was around her constantly.
Which only made things worse.
Sarah tried to never sit in the cafeteria,
But later, teachers began scolding her for eating on the floor in the hallways.
And she was teased every day at lunch for it.
The girls sometimes purposely dropped things on her,
Some even tried to get her to pay for the food they had lost due to her presence.
She never did anything to any of them.
She couldn't wait for summer.
One day, Sarah wandered into the cafeteria,
Sitting in one of the back corners.
"Hey you," some of her nearby classmates commented.
She forgot she was carrying her water bottle.
She scoffed and shoved it under her arm,
It took about 5 minutes for Y/N to show up.
Sarah glanced up and raised a brow.
"If you dare to, I guess."
She had a feeling this was a prank.
Becka setting her up for something.
"If I dare?" Y/N scoffed. "A little overdramatic, don't you think?"
"You're clearly new here."
Y/N nodded. "That obvious, huh?"
Behind them, the two heard someone clearing their throat,
Trying to get their attention.
"Uh, girl?" A voice asked.
Sarah squinted her eyes closed, immediately recognizing Becka's voice.
She braced herself for the mockery incoming.
"You might not want to sit with her," Becka said.
"She's a little, uh," Becka smiled meekly, "cursed."
Y/N laughed, rolling their eyes and turning back to Sarah.
"Good God, some of these people." They said,
Picking up the sandwich they'd brought for lunch.
Sarah blinked back at them, stunned.
Becka gave a sappy little smile and giggle,
As if it was cute that Y/N didn't know.
"No, hun, she's bad news. You might want to move."
"You guys are bad news," Y/N said, not even turning around.
"Just eat your lunch and keep it pushing," Y/N said,
Taking the first bite of their sandwich.
Becka scoffed, disgusted. "We're trying to help."
"No, you're trying to be bitches." Y/N snapped back,
Finally flipping around again.
This time, Sarah's jaw dropped.
No one had ever spoken up like this before.
"Excuse you?" Becka spat out.
"You're just trying to be nasty. Maybe you should go and sit somewhere else."
"Yeah, yeah, go cry about it to a teacher who cares," Y/N said,
Waving their hand passively,
"Anyways, what's your name?"
"Uh," she cleared her throat. "Sarah?"
She didn't know why she said it like it was a question.
"Nice to meet you, Sarah," Y/N said,
Cutting Becka off behind them.
"You should tell me about the book you're reading."
Stunned and heart-warmed,
And slid her book across the table.
"Check it out," she said softly.
She would never forget this day.
Maybe summer could wait just a little longer before arriving.
