ok so she was born to two wealthy parents; her father a doctor with his own private practice and her mother an attorney. it's safe to say she was and still is extremely spoiled.

she was extremely promiscuous in high school until she was 17, she met a guy and fell in love and they got married when she was 19. however, at 23, he found out she was cheating and she was extremely unsympathetic about it and signed annulment papers.

during her marraige, she develops a drug habit but knocked it around the age of 26.

ummmm she's extremely closed off and can easily seem rude and even at times, bratty, only showing her soft and vulnerable side to her close friends and family.

sohail was born and raised in queens where his parents owned a convenience shop and he lived with two younger sisters

he planned to become a firefighter but when his younger sister was fourteen she was mugged and sexually assaulted so sohail’s ambitions changed and he joined the police force

he prefers to be an officer on the ground rather than working at a desk so hasn’t campaigned too hard to be promoted or move up the ranks which has some people label him as unambitious but it’s really because he enjoys the job he’s working at now

he never thought he would leave new york

he began a relationship with a woman on the force in queens for a year but she was killed during a drug bust of which he was also a part

sohail is wracked with guilt about what happened on the bust so asked to be transferred to chicago to rid himself of his ghosts and start afresh

while he comes off as very approachable and open, it takes a long time for him to open up about his past and secrets

he can be overly impulsive which affects both his jobs and his relationships as his instincts aren’t nearly as good as he thinks they are

sohail doesn’t like being alone so would probably like a roommate whom he either knew somehow before he moved or just answered an ad when he moved to the city

he can be quite full on with people especially with friendships and his intensity can scare people off

he’s a liar tbh but mainly because he would rather lie to save someone’s feelings than tell them the truth and upset them

can be quite defensive but can’t hold a grudge for shit so even if he does get angry with someone he forgives them the next day

definitely tells people aspects of cases he’s not meant to share with them because he has a big mouth when it’s not about himself

always plays good cop during interrogations

Samuel was born and raised in Chicago as an only child with a single mother. He's very close with his mom as she was always there for him, but he doesn't remember his father as he left them when he was born

They lived in a rough neighborhood and his mom worked two jobs

Growing up not having a lot was tough but Samuel made sure to make his mom always happy, always having a smile on her face even when he wasn’t happy himself

He prefers to be called Sam as his mom only calls him Samuel

He got pushed around and kept mostly to himself, even when he was a teenager

Relationships didn’t come easy for him as he didn’t open up much, but he found that he loved love and he wanted to protect whoever he loved

He graduated high school and college out of state and came back home to live with his mom who still hasn’t re-married. He wants her to, but she’s happy with her life as it is

‘You’re such a happy boy’, his mom always said to him and still does to this day. 

He works as a bouncer outside nightclubs and when he’s not working, he is in the gym working out, mostly boxing or walking around the city

When he doesn’t have a good day or is feeling aggressive, he takes it out by boxing at the gym and feels that it’s a passion for him, like boxing could be something more

Eliza is the youngest Bennett sibling. She moved here with Daniel and is closest with him.

She is the black sheep of her family. She never wanted to fit into what their parents wanted from her and so she didn’t. She was labeled a troublemaker from very early on. She kicked out and did whatever she could in order to get herself free from her familys image. She was kicked out of school multiple times, which ultimately landed her in boarding school.

Eliza was just as bad in boarding school than she was at home but she was sneakier about it. No-one knew it was her and she made sure to pin it on someone else. It happened enough that they got kicked out of school. Eliza, however, was fine.

Eliza stayed in school for as long as she had too. And she barely passed. She put just enough world in to make sure that she passed. 

Eliza had the option to go to college, if she wanted. Her parents had enough money to bribe her way in but she refused. Just another way she found to kick out at her parents.

She found herself in a little rut. Eliza had always been a good writer. Her imagination had always been huge but she had never really given herself a chance to do it. She writes in her spare time, when no-one else is around. 

There was one person who Eliza trusted, outside of her brothers,  and that was someone she knew from boarding school. He had always been kind to her and she found herself caring more about him than she probably should have. 

The relationship which resulted was a whirlwind or emotions. It wasn’t especially healthy for either of them. And it wasn’t long into it when Eliza found out that she was pregnant. She told her boyfriend and he bolted, completely breaking Elizas heart.

It was around this time when Daniel moved to Chicago and Eliza jumped at the chance to escape. 

Se never told anyone else about her pregnancy and it wasn’t long after she moved to Chicago when she lost it. She’s still trying to figure out how she really feels about it all. 

Eliza is an incredibly emotional person. She doesn’t feel anything without it being everything. It is all or nothing with her.  And she has her heart very much on her sleeve because of it.

Learning and studying different languages. He is fluent in English, Spanish, Portugese, French and Kenyan, but knows quite a lot of Chinese, German and Latin. He has studied Egyptian and Mayan hieroglyphics in his travels, but is no where near an expert. All languages fascinate him.

He loved to keep well organized and documented journals and photographs of his adventures. He had a large collection of used journals and portfolios that he keeps in his personal library.

if you ignore the fact that this bio says rebekah and the criminology part, you’ll pretty much still have erin, and you can find that HERE.

instead of leaving derry (londonderry) for criminology she left after being accepted into a prestigious student veterinary programme, and she hasn’t really left america since, though she still misses her parents and her home country & city.

after the attack mentioned in the bio above, erin has found herself struggling to settle in the one place, though this is the longest she’s been able to stick around for - a part of her is hoping that it’ll last because she likes her job and she likes (kinda) the people she’s come into contact with.

even before that happened, erin hasn’t been the best when it comes to conversation. she tends to take things too literally and sarcasm often goes over her head, but the longer she stays in america the more she gets used to it - at least, it doesn’t confuse her as often as it used to.

she prefers nights in to nights out and prefers it when she’s in smaller crowds, bigger groups of people make her anxious and unsettled, and this is generally why she avoids clubs and parties - this isn’t for lack of trying, though. if she’s invited by someone she trusts she’ll at least attempt to show face, but after that it’s just usually pjs and a musical to wind down at night.

she hasn’t been in a relationship since it ended between her and girlfriend after the whole attack thing. she’s nervous to even try again and has no idea where to start - she generally tells people she has no interest in dating or meeting someone, but really... she just has no clue what to do since she and her ex just kind of happened and lasted several years, and now she’s just ????? all the time.

since she’s an old character, i still have a bio up of her and you can find that HERE - most of it is staying the same so i figured there’s no need to write it all out again, though a few details here and there are gonna be a bit different to fit the chicago aspect of it.

she’s still out to become a person in her own right rather than that which her parents are trying to make her.

she has a super dorky sense of humour and never really knows when to shut up? the only time that does seem to happen is when she’s sad or not feeling well... yup, she even talks in her sleep, it’s ridiculous tbh.

healthy eating? never heard of it. casey has a naturally high metabolism so she’s never really had to worry about that kind of thing, she much prefers to dine on pizza and kebabs than suffer through a salad. she’s literally the cops eat doughnuts stereotype, bonus points if it has sprinkles on them.

now that she’s living a life of her own, she tends to take every opportunity thrown her way... regardless of consequence. she didn’t get to experience much as a child so tends to just be a sponge and absorb as much as she can.

you’d think that someone would have their apartment in order after three years - nope, not this woman. she still has some stuff in boxes and she still lives with the vague belief that her now earned freedom might not last long so is ready to up and leave if needed.
