I knew I wanted Vil in Savanaclaw and Kalim in Diasomnia for complete opposite comfort zones. I figured I’d place Malleus in Scarabia for a similar reason, turning the lively dorm into a ghost town. For Leona, I figured all the rules would bore him and he would have to step up, but he doesn’t because he’s Leona. You can find a headcanon and short story of mine of what goes on. For Riddle, Azul, and zodiac, I figured they seemed like decent fits. Riddle in Pomefiore would give Riddle the chance to tone down his self strictness while also learning a new field, which he totally wouldn’t mind learning. For lazuli, him learning tech I found funny and he could take advantage of hacking and perhaps mobile games. For Idia, I placed him in Octavinelle for him to socialize, but he doesn’t because he’s Idia. But he does manage to contribute to Mostro Lounge in his own way.

So, this ask was in 3 parts, but it was super long. To summarize, it's the reactions of the leaders of they were swapped with Yuu/MC. I guess Yuu is a dorm leader, but it's because they didn't have a magical soul that they didn't get swapped. However, if one of the leaders WERE to be placed in Ramshackle...well...

Leona: No vice dorm leader. No tenants. No fights. Just quiet. Perfect for nice long naps. Oh wait, the ghosts. They'd better leave him alone or he'll turn the entire dorm to sand. How does Yuu and Grimm deal with these ghosts? Major props to them for having that kind of patience.

Vil: Oh, he is DISGUSTED at the state of the dorm. Judging by the few good pieces of furniture in the dorm that it was a nice, comfy, but a common dorm for the common middle class. It's not as bad as it could be since Yuu seemed to have cleaned it a bit. There is still plenty of dust and it'll be terrible for his hair. Wait, who are these ghosts? Why are they here? Oh no, they are trouble makers. They are going to be keeping him awake all night. It's going to ruin his beauty sleep. He'll get dark circles under his eyes! Also, just the dorm in general is awful. The bed is hardly soft, the mirror is dirty and foggy, everything is still dusty, the wood needs to be shaved for splinters, so much needs to be done. Can we talk about the decor? What kind of dorm is this? What kind of dorm WAS this? How can ANYONE live in a place like this? Yuu has earned Vil's respect for living in a dump like this and being ok with it.

Idia: An abandoned dorm that's completely isolated from others AND no one likes to come near it? What a perfect place to call a home. As long as it has working outlets, he's set for life. Ghosts? Whatever. They can't do anything to him. Wait, THEY CAN MESS WITH THE ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES OF HIS DEVICES!!! How did Yuu and Grimm live here? Next time he see Grimm, he'll make sure to give him canned tuna.

Malleus: The guy already walks by there every night. It's quiet, peaceful, devoid of others that will run away in fear. There are ghosts? Whatever. He has magic. He's been through worse. They'll probably avoid him anyway. Nothing changes for him. It's like a regular night at the graveyard

Riddle: Well, the dorm could be worse. He could have ended up in Pomefiore. He finds it rather boring. It's an abandoned dorm, so there's no rules he can enforce. At least he can order around Grimm. As for the ghosts, he's not concerned with them. Just as long as they don't get in the way of his duties and school work. If the dorm doesn't have any rules, make your own.

Azul: Oh, this boy is gonna immediately turn it into the next Mostro Lounge. He starts cleaning, rearranging, and planning out the entire layout of how the new lounge will look. Although, the ghosts may be a bit problematic. But since they're still around, there's no harm in getting them into contracts in order to get them to leave.

Kalim: He's gonna throw a party. First, he'll bring some servants over to clean the dorm up, and then he'll bring the camels and peacocks. He'll invite everyone to the feast. Even the ghosts. Now he can say he partied with death. He may or may not have danced with the ghosts too and then befriend them.

Yuu/MC: In Heartslabyul, Yuu would be well respected for being lenient with the more trivial rules. Yuu would definitely convince others why they should follow the more strict rules that are more common sense and logical. They would make rounds around the dorm with Trey, and they would have fun with the other three. At parties, they'd help paint the roses with the freshmen and help Trey bake tarts. Would invite Riddle to the party, obviously. Would also have fun with Ace, and Deuce by extension.

At Savanaclaw, Yuu wouldn't be that respected. After all, no magic and is, probably, a twig. But, they'd be able to break up fights, with Ruggie and Jack's help, and make the tenants come to peaceful resolutions. Leona would definitely respect Yuu if they can stop the brutes from fighting.

As Octavinelle's dorm leader, Yuu would be working in Mostro Lounge. They'd help deliver drinks, take orders, cleaning the dishes, dealing with clients...wait what? Actually, Yuu would be against making contacts. They don't have the means to make contracts nor do they have the morality to make contracts. They also probably don't know the legal complications or have the knowledge.

In Scarabia, Yuu would be responsible and perform regular prefect duties, much to Jamil's relief. Not as many, or as crazy, parties. Nothing much to say here.

Oh, Rook will be all over Yuu and get them on the beauty routine bandwagon real quick. The most Yuu gets out of it is nice, dewy skin. Epel treats Yuu with respect since they're a prefect but also treats them causally since they have helped the school and the student body so much.

I bet Yuu would be confused af in Ignihyde. But Ortho would get a new friend to play with. Like in my headcanon with Azul leading Ignihyde, Ortho would probably teach Yuu basic tech terminology and techniques.

Sebek will be panicking and Lilia will find the situation hilarious. Yuu would probably help Silver with his insomnia. Would probably fight Sebek verbally. Since Yuu is canonically shown to be sassy and have comebacks for other characters, would hold their own against Sebek. Change my mind.

S-since t-t-he d-dorm leaders has j-just s-switch t-their d-dorms, w-w-what w-wil t-the dorm leaders d-do and h-how w-will they h-have FUN! 😖

Leona: He may be the leader of a dorm with 810 rules, but that doesn't mean he'll still laze about. Like at Savanaclaw, he pushes the work onto Trey. Since he doesn't have Riddle's special magic, he has Trey and Cater hose down any rule breakers. Usually it's him. The most fun Leona gets out of this is more naps since it's less chaotic than Savanaclaw.

Vil: The "fun" for Savanaclaw tenants is fighting and rough housing, but Vil will be spending most of his time in his room trying maintain his looks. He stays away from all the fighting and dust. The heat will be drying out his moisturized skin, so he keeps himself busy trying to maintain his looks. He always usually sends Ruggie to break up fights. Other than that, he does the rest of the work himself, much to Ruggie's joy. Vil does spend a lot of time at the pool (or oasis, or whatever that area is called).

Idia: Poor Idia has to help out at the counter at the Mostro Lounge. This means socializing! He has Jade around to help him while Floyd kinda laughs. As the leader of Octavinelle, he now has to deal with all the contracts and requests the students have. If it's anything related to games or technology, you bet that he's able to fulfill those requests. If it's anything else, the twins hand to take care of it. For meetings, the twins have to drag him out if his room/the office and meet with the students for contracts. The most fun he ever has is his alone time to play games. He misses his computer.

Malleus: Serious faced Malleus and the usually fun Scarabia don't mix well. He does the normal dorm leader duties, but he's fears because he's THE Malleus Draconia. He has Jamil at least. Also, what's fun?

Riddle: At least Pomefiore has its own rules he can enforce. He essentially does Pomefiore what he did at Heartslabyul: Enforce the rules, punish those who break them (which isn't a big problem at this dorm thank god), and help those who are failing increase their grades. But as the dorm leader, he needs to follow the rules too. That includes the daily hair and skin care routines for both day and night. Thankfully Epel, Rook, and Vil (via magic communication) helped him learn how to do everything. Also, what's fun 2.0.

Azul: Azul gravely underestimates Ignihyde. He's helped Idia before, but he did not expect Ignihyde's true colors. Many of the students come to him in regards to invention checks and questions in tech language. Poor Azul doesn't understand anything mostly. Luckily, Ortho is there to help him learn how Ignihyde works. He eventually learns how to hack and begins to have fun with the school system. Ortho keeps telling him no. There'll be time when Azul decides to obey Ortho, but he still does it. He also tries to convince the tenants to sign contacts of course. Can't teach an octopus new tricks (Yes you can).

Kalim: Oh boy, nothing changes for this boy. Not even the vibe. You know he's gonna throw a party to celebrate the dorm switch. Lilia is living for the change while Silver and Sebek freak out over where Malleus went. Kalim lightens up the mood in the dorm LITERALLY overnight. He's using his magic everywhere he goes. The fae trio manage to grab hold of him and teach him Diasomnia's leader responsibilities. While still forgetful and rather careless, our boy can survive the dorm with ease. His aura and smile are too sweet to dislike.

Basic detective work. They determined that the accident had to have happened the day before the dorm swap announcement assembly. It was either a spell or a potion explosion. Since NRC is prestigious, there's no way they wouldn't have security. It writing be silly, negligent, and idiotic if they didn't. Mc and Grimm get permission from Crowley to review footage, with his supervision. Looking at various clips of spell casting and potion crafting, they concluded the it was a potion accident. Based on that fact and the colors on the lab coat, it was a Pomefiore Student, shockingly. This would seem like the handiwork of a Diasomnia student but nope. The two asked Crewel if there was any kind of alchemical practicing at some point. They asked around and questioned some students about any possible knowledge of explosions or alchemical accidents. They asked any Pomefiore Student they saw if they knew anything. Luckily, one did. The student remembers a dorm mate whining about an experiment gone wrong, but then freaked out more after the announcement assembly. After getting the name from the interviewee, Crowley took care of them.

Ortho is pretty sad that he can't always be with his brother, but he can always visit him or see him around campus.

On the bright side, he gets to see his big brother socialize more.

But it's not like he's that lonely. He's got Azul as a new friend and honorary big brother! He's practically attached to the octopus man.

In my introduction post, I literally typed "deus ex magica." In reality, it was some magic accident with a potion from a student. A student was practicing alchemy, but an extra ingredient got added by mistake and created an explosion. At first, nothing happened, so the student didn't bother to care. That is until there was a big announcement from Crowley that the dorms would be getting new leaders. The student was tracked down, but because a potion like this was never made before, no one knows how to reverse it. No potion with this effect was recorded until now, so there's no antidote to undo it.

During the Entrance Ceremony, a student is sorted into a dorm based on the shape of their soul. This potion changed the souls of the most powerful students in the school, placing them in new dorms accordingly. With a potion that changes the very shape of one's magical soul, Crowley, the staff, no one knows how to fix it. Crowley believes that there's more to it than just soul swapping. He believes there might be an unintentional purpose to this accident.

Unfortunately, no. If you were, that would require a rearrangement of the dorm leaders, and I would prefer it if the new dorm leader assignments remains unchanged. Besides, this au was made on the basis of the 7 canon dorms and dorm leaders.
