how come u think the way ppl write tokyo revengers dc is odd ? /g
it's nothing with the dark content itself because i actually quite like dark content (i write it so,... obvi lol) but more so the fact that a lot of the time it feels like the same blueprint every time. there's nothing wrong with that, it just really isn't my speed. not to mention... the characters almost never feel like themselves because tr has warped the personalities of the characters in a HUGE way (like in the haikyu fandom how people make kageyama's entire personality milk and anger).
also... and this might just be me and my personal preference but i notice that in tr writing... the line between bimbo and.. infantilization is so thin to the point that it's almost nonexistent. there is a difference between someone taking on a caretaker role and infantilizing reader to the point of uncomfortability and the tr fandom tends to do the latter. obviously this isn't like... universal... but it's so frequent to the point that there are VERY few fics i can read without feeling like the fic is putting me into the headspace of a child (mutuals excluded ofc) and that makes me incredibly uncomfortable. and a lot of the time it's not tagged as such...
(like it kind of falls under the issue with words like "princess parts", to contextualize it)
i dunno... that's kind of my issue with it.
