A lot of the fanfiction that I read is from Triss' POV and they focus on her building up her confidence and her admiration of others, so now I'm wondering if the POV is swapped around, what would Yennefer and Philippa notice most about Triss initially?
Sure sure anon. I think I have way too many things in common with Triss.
I grew up in a harbor city just like her hometown Maribor, and she does have all the beautiful vibe of a girl growing up in one: a beam of sunshine, shy and bold at the same time, kind at heart but also not afraid to let people know when she is being tested on the limit of her patience (I really enjoyed her exchange with Yarl en Craite in Tower of Swallow), the duality of the daughter of the sea. She always wants to be nice first but is never a pushover.
She also exercises just the right amount of sarcasm without being too much of an asshole (it’s not a personal attack Yenna

She is often time anxious about herself and the position she is in. She is still young, the youngest among the influential, making her constantly doubt herself of her worthiness. I talked to my friends about her always trying to find her place. And in the process she has to make choices she may not be proud of or may disappoint the people she cares about. It breaks her heart but she sticks to her choice for she believes they are the best ones she can come up with in her shoes. I am really like her in these aspects, so I am okay with the choices she makes because i can relate maybe too well.

The second question is really interesting! In my opinion, what Phil or Yenna would see in novice Triss is a curious and optimistic kid, naive in just the right way. The first term came to my mind was in my native language, and its rough translation is “being neither too haughty nor too humble”. She was young, talented, and she took new knowledge in when tagging along one of them like an obedient puppy with the potential to become a fierce hound, something Yenna and Phil surely would take notice. For someone high profile and with little patience for mediocre things, surely they would stick around more often, interested in her enough to want to see where she may be going. Like there may be flashing moments where Triss showed insight or intelligence unlike a child of her age and experience, enough to intrigue them, prompting them to pay more attention. All in all she is such a magnificent soul I wish more people could see her as such😢
