Aw, thank you for asking! It does mean a lot to know people are still interested.

And it’s actually going relatively well. There’s a few plotlines that I’m still struggling with, but I’m pretty happy with the work I’ve done so far - it’s gotten a lot better, imo. It still needs a lot of work, but I’ve got a few days of holiday coming up, and I hope I’ll have time to plan in a whole Writing Day and get some Shit Done.

Bold of you to assume that I didn't jump straight back in the moment the final chapter of RtC was posted.

I still have 50 of 475 pages to read but so far it's been an interesting experience. I think I wrote the most recent bits roughly two years ago and I'd already forgotten about some things, which makes for a fun read (cue me being genuinely curious at one point where I plot point was gonna lead because I could not fucking remember). And so far I know three things :

1. There still is a lot of work, especially in the early chapters and plotwise;

2. There is also a lot of good stuff there that I can build on;

3. As frustrating as this whole thing is, I'm also enjoying it immensely.

ARGH.

I really kinda wanna reply to this one except I sort of make a point out of keeping plot things close to my chest until I actually fucking post, but on the other hand I’m basically exploding with all the things I’m doing in this story and I can’t talk about so I’m, er.

isn’t everything in Sebastian’s life related to Jim in some way?

Yup, an old army comrade pops up and plays a role in the general plot. It’s only one scene, though, and it doesn’t really go into detail.
