“I want to dance with him too... I want to dance with the prince. But I’m a duck.”

Wow.

That was a hell of a thing.

Started out vaguely fairytale and cute, became school-drama cute, and then took a hard left turn into surreal and eerie heightened Storytelling with a definite hypnotic bent. Ahiru doesn’t know who she is, or didn’t for a while. What’s real, what’s not? Where is Eyeballs coming from and how can he loop in and out of the story so easily? Why is Mytho the way he is? Why is Fakir the way he is? Is the boy in the uniform above looking down at Ahiru, reflected in the water, or is he drowned?

This is already absolutely fascinating, and I’m so psyched to carry on with it. I’m laughing a little at how Owl House is a monster aesthetic wholesome kids’ cartoon whereas this is a ballet and fairytale aesthetic and has been genuinely freaking me out (in a good way!).

I’m a liveblog! I’m going to be starting Princess Tutu this afternoon, and will be blogging it alternating weekends with Owl House! I’m excited to watch this show!
