Cute Gift Idea #1: Frame It!!!!
I like to make cute gifts for my friends and family birthdays or Christmas presents, and one of my all time favourite things to make is a framed photo collage or quote. Unfortunately, it's nearly impossible to find cute photo frames that don't cost a fortune. My solution is to buy a cheap frame from a discount shop and upcycle it into a cute frame to suit the person or subject of the quote/picture. So here is a little tutorial on how to make some of my favourite frames - paint splatter and glitter explosion. (Yes I did just name the types of frames I am designing I am super lame)
Something (to mix paint on)
Newspaper/Paper/Mat (to protect area painting on)
Photo Collage/Quote/Picture for frame
1. Put down some newspaper or paper to protect table from paint.
2. Open the frame and take out the glass and back cardboard, putting to one side.
3. Lay the frame on the paper.
4. Mix your paint to your desired colour and paint your frame, make sure to paint the sides of the frame as well as the front of the frame.
5. Add glitter (glitter explosion) or splatter different colours on the frame (paint splatter)
6. Wait for the paint to dry, then paint over the frame with clear glue, to avoid glitter shedding and to give it a shine.
7. Once the glue has dried, put the glass, the picture/quote, and backing into the frame.
8. Enjoy your new framed picture or give it to someone you love as a nice gift.
