I've missed having a book in my hands.
I breezed through this earlier today. I needed a finish to be on target. Graphic novels (or in this case...graphic short stories?) aren't typically on my radar. I've only read one other one and I did enjoy it, but they aren't really something I seek out. A few months ago I was looking to branch out and try new things with my reading and put this on my list. I'm really glad I did. It's beautiful. Just beautiful. And was just the right amount of creepy for me. I am a bit of a pansy, after all. A few of the stories were better than the others, but all of them were intriguing enough to keep turning the pages. ★★★★☆ 4/5 stars
I've been sticking to e-books lately because, frankly, they are convenient. I can read one on my phone whilst waiting in any line. I can read one while there's an infant sleeping on me because she won't do so in her bed. And there are no turning pages to wake her. I finished 6 books last month and I probably wouldn't have been able to if I was solely sticking to physical copies. But today I went to the library. And it came back to me just how much that place has always been my little 30 minute get-away. The quiet buzz of people. The sound of turning pages. The smell of coffee. The slow walk up the stairs to my preferred section of books. Getting lost in that room of books. The new books section. Shelves and shelves of other world possibilities. I got to escape the world for 30 minutes today and it was perfect.
Brian told me to read this a few weeks ago, but I was suffering a pretty huge book hangover at the time (thank you, Stephanie Perkins). Anyway, tonight I'll be jumping into this gem. It better be everything you said it was, B! ;)

So, yeah, as you can see...
I decided to go with the separate bookish blog.
Since my new goal I've set for myself has been to essentially turn more pages, that's the url I went with.
This will be the space I talk books. What I'm reading, what I want to read, etc. And probably plenty of book related reblogs.
I'm just getting the space set up (and I apparently had forgotten how annoying it is to make your blog look how you want it to), so I'll probably change a lot about what I'm doing here as I go until I get settled in.
Anyway. Hi. Natasha reads. Join me!
