Once again, my post ends up being later in the day because I was, at the last minute, desperately trying to put together something just a bit special for the occasion. 😂 I fucking love Robert Townsend, so I couldn’t just not do an edit for Culper Jr. too.

He’s so subtle and discreet, and yet so badass in that quiet way of his— until, well, he’s not so quiet in his badassery, lol. Truly one of the most iconic roles in the show for me, and a characters who’s impacted me in ways that few others ever have in my life, so shoutout to Nick Westrate for portraying him so well!

Caleb is such an amazing character, and I’ve always wanted to make an edit specifically for him but I don’t think I’ve done one yet? But finally, here this is!

Admittedly, editing does take a lot of time and energy so I’m already impressed with myself for being able to have one for each day of the Culper Appreciation Week so far lmao. (Good thing I already know what audio I’m using for Anna.)

But yet again, since I have so much passion for this series and literally all of the Culpers, I made it a priority to carve out the time for even MORE editing (somehow). ;D

As per my usual, here’s a silly goofy edit at the very last minute— though that being said it is still Fourth of July where I am!!

When I thought about all the battle scenes in Turn, not gonna lie I did struggle a lot to pick a favorite one. I know people like to verbally shred every scene for historical inaccuracies, but I assure y’all that was not a part of my decision lmao— historical FICTION exists for a reason. ;))

Anyhow, the Battle of Monmouth scene is probably the battle depiction that gets the biggest emotional reaction out of me, especially because of the song that plays over it (Set it Right- it is a CRIME this soundtrack was never officially released, I tell you!), and I love the lead up and Washington’s dialogue with Lee, so of course honorable mention to that!

But. It’s the Fourth of July so it felt appropriate to celebrate the birth of our nation here lmao, and what better battle to do that with than the epic Yorktown scene?

Everything about how this scene was put together is appealing to me— the way this scene was shot, edited, the color palette as per my usual, the camerawork and all of the cool individual shots that can be found throughout it— this scene can get me emotional too, because by god is it a powerful one! There are few things that get me as hyped.
