Make it quick. I have to wrap my hand and get out there before my coach sees me.
Andrew had been on the ice for about an hour already working on the miscellaneous skills that he’d managed to fall behind on, but for the past fifteen minutes he couldn’t help but be distracted by the figure that hung out at the side of the rink. After he missed his third shot at the open net, a gloved hand clutched around his stick as he skated over to where they stood. “You know, I love my fans - but I think you’d have a much better time if you actually did something.” He lowered the stick, letting it drag against the ice. “Just my opinion.”

“I’m hoping to teach Aria a love of it as well. Plus it’s a fun way to teach her math.”

William had been away for a few weeks. not that anyone would noticed he was gone. well, Sophie but nobody else. it wasn’t that people didn’t know who he was, because normally William never manage to shut up. just the idea of friends, it did not really come easy on him. growing up he used to have play dates set up with his fathers friend’s children but when he left things just did not keep; and it ended up with him only being around Sophie. he had a little bit of a feeling that Sophie might be a little bit worried since he had never told her he was going away a bit. and not a text either, even if he had time for it. the dark haired boy just needed some time with this. his father had taken him to is work, and showed him off to his air force friends. he had all the right grades, and everything to get into this program and score even higher then his father had ever did. he knew that, and his father also knew that but it did not mean he wanted that. sure, it had been fun because for the first time ever he felt like his father made time for him; normally he would be stuck all alone in that big house in tree hill without his mom and dad both working and loving their work more. the air force somehow grew them close. yes, William knew everything about it because he had read and made it a mission to know so he could talk to his dad about it. however, he was not that interested in it. around his mother and father he often became a whole different boy then when he was around the few friends he really had. –– he had just come from the air port, but had decided to go to the public library before going home. he stood by the war section, and tried to decided what to pick.
it had been some bad months , this year did not really start out that good. to be fair, Ruby had been a bit distracted lately but it normally did not end up into this. the dark haired girl was sitting on the edge of the dock, letting her legs almost touch the sea. it was her favorite place to be when she did not want anyone around, because people would normally just walk pass her. being over looker and invisible wasn’t a new thing to her. everyone did it, and even if Ruby had a smile on alway; deep down there was a lot more to her then just a pretty smile she would give everyone who talked to her. her skirt was ruffled up from running, and he knee was bleeding; not that she cared about that one. her forehead had been patched up, so now she had a patch on her head. so typical of her, it was just kind of thing that happened to her. so said her mother all the time. often she wanted to just go away, from everything and everyone in this town. but Ruby knew she could never do that. her father had just left them now, and even if he had asked her to come with him; Ruby had said no. if she had, nobody would care or take care of her mother. the day her father left for New York, she had cried but only after because she wanted to go with him she wanted to go with him so badly. nobody knew this, because Ruby did never really talk about her family life; and if people asked the would distract them with other things. she was good at that, and people let her do it. her mother had gotten worse, so a hit here and there was not un-normal now. Ruby told her self that it only happened after too much alcohol, and her mother was angry and everything lately. since she was the only one around, it happened to go out on her. though she could not leave her, it would not be right. nobody would be around to take care of her then. make food, and do the house things at home. often it was totally fine done it, but lately she had gotten a bit tried and not responded too well with her friends because she had no time for them. ‘don’t cry Ruby, people have it worse’ said a voice in her head, and this voice won most of the time; so she sat there not crying; only watching the boats far away and the lights on them.
Being forced to live off of noodles and hot dogs for a week is totally worth not having to work any 24 hour shifts for an entire nine days. Please no one die and make me feel guilty about this.
