Process for a recently commissioned illustration. The brief was to draw the two characters hugging. The client chose their favourite thumbnails before I moved on to the sketch stage.

Here’s the thumbnail for our very first podcast. I think it’s one of my favorite thumbnails that I’ve drawn for the channel. As you can probably tell by looking at all of the thumbnails, I really struggle with drawing the characters from different angles, so obviously, all the characters here are facing forward. I think the greenish blue color pallete used here looks really nice, and the characters are all drawn so closely together, so it made for the perfect profile picture too.
