F: Care to share a favorite hurt/comfort fic?

Hurt/comfort, eh? Hmmm. Recently I read Pigeon Alley, which was aching and gorgeous and made me crave more breakup stories because I’m a monster like that.

I: Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?

My guilty pleasure is writing completely bullshit phrases like “He half-expects Yuuri to dissolve, to be naught but dust and desperate imagination, but after five pulsing heartbeats he’s still there, his body carving a simulacrum in the tall grass” and getting away with it. I love the craft of writing so much, and find such joy in using language in creative and rhythmic ways. Sentences like that are like gourmet desserts; there’s just an obscene amount of fanciness and work going into something that could be so much simpler but wouldn’t be nearly as luxurious.

K: What’s the angstiest idea you’ve ever come up with?

Hands down winner is that one time I was given the very simple prompt of “light” and came up with “if Victor and Yuuri touch they will cause the apocalypse”.

1. My take on their canon relationship:

There’s no way it isn’t at least onesided canonically on Killua’s part which honestly explains my feelings on it unrequitedfeelingsaaaaaaah

2. Do I ship them:

YEAH. Funnily enough I didn’t originally when I was in high school? I was pretty wrapped up in Kurapika and Leopika in general (tbh the 1999 anime was too soooo…). The 2011 anime really put them into sharp focus though! It probably helped to actually see and absorb the chimera ant arc - when I was originally reading the manga, that was still coming out in pieces and I only had access to poor scanlations.

3. Reasons why I do/don’t ship them;

Have you seen Killua pining after Gon. How can you *not*. Honestly though, it’s such a great example of ‘young friends growing up together and discovering feelings’ and it’s in the background of all the other action - it’s fantastic.

4. Headcanon, if any:

Gon does have similar feelings of affection for Killua, but thinks his feelings are just. Well. There.  And obvious. Obviously he *likes* Killua, right? Didn’t he know? Killua, why are you looking at me like that? We’ve always been close, right?
