Commentary: A new muncher species! They’re very mysterious but I do know that they are mostly fluff!
Tumblemunchers are strange members of the muncher family. They move like tumble weeds and seem to migrate from the mountains to the forests and vice versa seasonally. They live in the mountains during the warmer months and travel to the forests in the colder months. It’s unknown if they are truly migrating on their own accord or are merely being moved by seasonal winds.
They are so light, due to being mostly fluff, that they float on and skip across bodies of water seemingly effortless. If the fall into one of the forests many sinkholes they merely ride the underground rivers to the nearest lake and float back to the surface. It it theorized that their dense waterproof chitinous hair locks in air to help them float.
Tumblemunchers have never been observed eating, so scientists assume that they may filter feed air plankton and other organic particles for substance, but the true answer remains unclear at this time.
Human interactions with these creatures are rare, but tumblemunchers seem oblivious to all other creatures and merely tumble on by. Catching them is incredibly tricky for reasons unclear, so humans pose little threat to them.
