TumbleBit Status (as of March 2017)
Recent TumbleBit developments:
nTumbleBit is the new TumbleBit: The python reference protocol implementation in BUSEC/TumbleBit has been finished. With this done, no more work is planned on the BUSEC/TumbleBit implementation. Instead active development efforts have moved to nTumbleBit. nTumbleBit is a C# open source implementation of the TumbleBit protocol created by Nicolas Dorier.
nTumbleBit is making great progress: As of this post nTumbleBit currently has 256 commits, 14 merged pull requests and 5 contributors (none of them are me, so hopefully 6 contributors soon). nTumbleBit is functional; several people have successfully mixed testnet Bitcoin on the nTumbleBit Classic Tumbler. It is currently undergoing user testing, audits and security improvements. Under the old roadmap nTumbleBit would have fully completed Phase 1. Parallel work is now being done to complete Phase 2, Phase 3 and Phase 4.
TumbleBit has a new Logo: As shown above Nicolas Dorier has created the excellent TumbleBit logo.
The Breeze Wallet: Stratis Blockchain is now building Breeze a privacy-focused wallet which supports TumbleBit in Classic Tumbler mode. Follow the development of Breeze on github.
/r/TumbleBit: TumbleBit is on reddit.
TumbleBit at NDSS'17: TumbleBit has been presented and published at the Network and Distributed System Security Symposium (NDSS) a top peer reviewed security/privacy conference.
Much more work is happening behind the scenes. Additional annoucements will be made over the next few weeks.
