Tu-22M3 Backfire
俄羅斯總統府新聞發言人佩斯科夫(Dmitry Peskov)表示，俄國在敘利亞的反恐作戰已經結束，因此俄羅斯軍隊將會逐步回到本土。不過佩斯科夫強調，俄羅斯在中東的影響力是一直都存在，外界不應解讀成填補美國留下的空白。
俄羅斯總統普丁在12月11日訪問敘利亞赫梅米姆空軍基地(Hmeymim airbase)，正式下達了俄軍撤出敘利亞的命令，普丁在對軍人演講中稱，俄軍已經出色地完成了自己的任務，敘利亞的安全得到了保障，將來的政治調整也會在聯合國主持下建立起來。敘利亞總統巴沙爾．阿薩德也與普丁一同巡視基地。俄羅斯總統府新聞發言人佩斯科夫(Dmitry Peskov)表示，俄國在敘利亞的反恐作戰已經結束，因此俄羅斯軍隊將會逐步回到本土。俄羅斯總統普京１１日突訪俄駐敘利亞的赫邁米姆空軍基地，並宣布俄軍開始撤離。俄輿論認為，此舉為２０１５年９月俄軍在敘利亞開始的反恐戰畫上句號。
