Who's the strongest TP you know of?
"Tha's not the right question. Strongest of the TP are all Synergists. Your Cassies, Liams, Stephens, and Lucis of the world. But even then... they ain't the strongest strongest. So, the right question is-- Who is the strongest of each of the T's? Which means ya got three powerful specialists... And Stephen who is now the only one capable of Chronokinesis tho' some others got sensitivity to it."
He's sipping a protein shake and it's taking every atom of his self control to not toss the shake into the next county.
"Now, if you lookin' for that answer, it's a matter of bias. 'Cause even with the three T's, you got the specialists in those. Telepaths, for example, I wouldn't call myself the strongest, but I am damn good at getting a read on the truth and it makes me one Hell of a private investigator. Cara Coburn can read anyone's mind and can zero in on new breakouts without ever seeing them. Hugh Bathory could shove his whole ass into your mind and know every secret about you before you could move a muscle. Marla Jameson can telepathically block out anybody from reading anybody else's mind... So it depends on what you see as 'strong'."
He's given up on the shake, it's dropped unceremoniously into the garbage.
"Strength really is perspective. Even if you held a gun to my head and demanded answers, that's what you'd get. Some people can bench press 200 pounds and recite the first chapter of the Hobbit from memory, others can bench 20 pounds and can calculate complex math in their heads. Some people think teleporters should be ranked based on distance or amount of people they can carry, or if they can multiple... Others think they should be ranked on how quiet they are when they do it. Telekinetics can be judged by pushing or pulling, but maybe should be judged on if they figured out how to fly yet or not. Ironically, I have a definitive answer on the telekinetics, but ain't none of you gon' like it."
"If I had to pick my fantasy TP lineup, however, based on the TP I know and y'all know out there in the peanut gallery, and I got unprecedented multiple first round draft picks? Telepaths would be Cara Coburn, Marla Jameson, and Missy Trask-- don't tell her I said that, she'll key my car. Teleporters... John Young, Pops, Nicholas Levitt and maybe Jordan Reynolds. And Telekinetics, well, Clari Tellemanca runs laps around the rest of them in a literal sense, and figured out hovering. I'm sure she'll get to flight out of boredom soon. But I'd put Russell Kwon and Killian McCrane right behind her-- if Russell stops focusing on being a thief and Killian stops making fuckin' bombs.. And then I guess I get Stephen as default chronokinetic."
He paused, glancing at his hands, and chuckling to himself before grinning. "Though if we're talking about strongest in some sort of fist fight, Jordan Reynolds would absolutely beat everyone's ass for a single corn chip, except Clari Tellemanca's."
