As the sun disappeared over the horizon, the cool Texas wind wafted over the road, but it brought you no relief, instead it only brought a cold, terrifying chill that made you shiver with every breath. The sweat on your neck was now icy, the loneliness petrifying. You knew that something was wrong, you'd stopped rationalizing, stopped making excuses for Sophie's absence, now all you had was fear. Pure. Fear. The terror made you almost wish the woman was back with you, that Sissy was back with you. At least she was company. Now it was just you and the stars, or at least, you hoped it was.
A rustling in the bushes outside snapped you back into reality, the rustling was distant at first, but as you held your breath you realised - it was footsteps. Your heart skipped a beat as you listened out for them, was Sissy back? Had she finally - no. The footsteps weren't hers, they were slow, methodical and heavy - not the steps of someone barefoot. You quickly hid under the seat, terrified, your heart was beating like it had never beat before. A dark figure clad in silhouette appeared at the window, just barely glistening in the moonlight. It was him - it was Johnny.
"You alright in there Y/N?" He called out, knocking at the window. You didn't respond, you just held your breath, praying he couldn't see you.
"I know you're in there. It's rude to ignore someone when they're talkin' to you." He coaxed, you remained silent, hoping on the simple factor of him going away.
"heh. I can see you down there y'know. Those pretty locks of yours give you away."
Shit
"Where's Sophie?!" You screamed, your fear growing ever stronger as you sat up, leaning against the door.
"Oh so you CAN talk! Open the door. C'mon."
"I… I'm not opening the door without Sophie!"
"Aww. Well that's just too bad." Johnny chuckled, pulling a jingling set of keys from his pocket. The sight of the small crochet charm on the keychain sent your heart dropping to your stomach - those were Sophie's keys.
Johnny slotted the key into the lock, swinging the door open, revealing a knife clasped in his gloved hand, it shone in the silver moonlight, as did the blood covering his body. You screamed as Johnny grabbed your leg, pulling you out of the van onto the rough ground.
"GET OFF OF ME!" You screamed, uselessly hitting at his legs.
"AWW YOU AINT HAVIN FUN? SOPHIE HAD FUN." Johnny laughed as he pulled you up by the wrist, revealing his depraved, wide eyes. "What… what did you do to her?!"
"Let me show you." He purred, teasing your skin with his knife, wiping your friends blood along your arm. A sudden resolve overcame you, you realised you would die here if you didn't fight back - you had to run. Now.
"GET THE FUCK OFF OF ME!" You screamed, pulling tightly at your wrist as you grabbed the keys from the door, jabbing them into Johnny's abdomen. The split second of shock loosened his grip just enough for you to slide out, Sophie's slick blood allowed you to pull free and make a dash for the woods. You didn't dare look back, you just ran straight forward, your heart pounding, your legs feeling like lead pipes.
"OH YOU'RE MAKING THIS FUN FOR ME ARE YOU?! I LIKE A GIRL WHO PUTS UP A FIGHT! I'LL EVEN GIVE YOU A HEADSTART!" Johnny laughed, his voice becoming more and more distant. He was walking after you, watching you run. This was worse than chasing you, worse than killing you outright - he was confident that you wouldn't get away. Yet you kept running, it's all you could do.
As you leapt and bounded through the woods, you hoped the dry thicket would supply you with ample cover to hide, you couldn't keep running, your eyes were full of tears, your legs were exhausted, your arms were laced in scratches from the dry branches that reached out like thorny fingers, snatching and grabbing at you to keep you still, all for the monster chasing you to devour. You ducked down under an overturned log, shuffling down into the cool dirt, it was horrible, you felt something crawl over your skin and through your hair, many something's. The feeling once would have pushed you to tears, sent you running screaming - but now it was second to the fear you felt, second to the urge of survival.
Johnny's footsteps became apparent once again, disturbingly casual as he wandered through the woods.
"I'm gonna find you~" He called, only a few meters away, he looked over his shoulder, observing the broken branches you had left in your panic.
"You know, the longer you spend running, the more I get to think about what I'll do with you when I find you." He hummed, his voice disappearing into the woods. You waited what felt like hours before coming out from under that log, you were sore, terrified, tired. You stumbled around, wondering what the hell to do - could you just wander down the road waiting for someone to find you? How long is it to civilisation? What if he gets back in his truck? All these worries were cut short when an icy cold razor was pressed to your throat, earning a terrified eep from your lips.
"Shhh. It's okay sugar. It's me." Sissy whispered, lowering you to the ground with her.
"P-please don't hurt me Sissy, please…" You whimpered, tears falling down your cheeks.
"Shhhh. Shhh. It's okay sugar. I'm here to help you. I won't let that rotten brute lay a finger on you. You're mine. You're my prize. I saw it when I first laid eyes on you, I heard you callin' to me, silently, with your mind." Sissy ran her tongue softly over your neck, lapping up the dirt-tainted sweat. You held back a shiver, lest you risk the razor making an unwelcome gash.
"Your body called for me too. I see how you sweat for me. I sweat for you too. I'll protect you. I'll keep you safe. And you will love me." Sissy giggled, pressing a rag covered in odd powder to your face. You protested against it, tears welling in your eyes - the concoction was sickeningly sweet, the powder got in your nose, into your airways, you tried to struggle against it, but each breath brought more powder, it made its way through your very senses right to your brain, compelling you to
"Sleep."
You awoke in darkness, your head was fuzzy, you could feel a throbbing in your mind, like your heart had made its way into your skull. Yet it wasn't pain you was feeling, only numbness. Your skin felt like it was on fire, your body hot, but it was a fire almost welcoming, painful but beautiful. You whined, realising a cloth gag was fitted tight into your mouth, laced with some kind of chemical that must have been the cause of the burning numbness. You tried looking around, realising you was in a closet of sorts, sat upon a makeshift throne of old clothes. Your feet were tied together, as were your wrists, which were bound behind you. Your mind cleared slightly, the reality of being kidnapped by some crazy woman setting in - you had to escape. You moved your knees slightly, your body felt heavy, so very heavy. Mustering up your strength, you bucked against the wooden closet door, hearing a clinking on the other side. As you kicked and kicked, the wooden doors didn't relent - it was locked by some kind of chain. Whatever hope you had quickly dwindled as you laid back down in your cramped new home, surrendering to the numbness - you closed your eyes.
