Chalkurites can’t be created anymore, they’re all a byproduct of the hurricane god monsters known as Prisms that spawned in Frontera in an event known as Wake Two (sometimes called Segunda Conquista and Ragnarok) This brought the planets and inhabitants consequent quarantine on behalf of the New Earth Confederate (called Fed for short) that has remained on the planet for around 900 years. It’s helped quite a bit allowing all sorts of crazy shit to evolve in such a short span, including but not limited to gestalt, beetlehawk hybrids, chalkurite children, chimeras, and other fun things. It has not however made the people living in that hellhole develop a liking for their well-off prison guards.

When a Prism is killed, god-shards will spread about and these in turn will activate as ylem creatures known as ghosts that seek out a host to ‘haunt’ for a while, observing and sometimes brutally interacting with it for long periods of time to imprint on them and adopt their guise. Once they imprint and spawn as tiny versions of their hosts, they’re fit to be called chalkurites and can initiate their lives as undercover god parasite monsters…like Pint!

btw Ylem is a primordial element that acts and is very much like the philosopher’s stone (as in turn into anything)–its unchanged state is a black body and can act with a mind of its own.. It can exhibit any and all states of matter though it’s more often than not found as a non-newtonian fluid or in a crystallized state. Gestalt and human espers are prolific in learning how to control it, both as tool and weapon-It was first brought/created with Wake Two and its properties as a cannibalistic/intelligent and extremely precious and useful mineral have coined this Wake -god’s apology letter- after the First and horrifying Wake that ravaged humanity.
