Hello everyone!

I’m already on the home stretch of building Henford-on-Bagley in the style of a medieval town, and today it’s the turn of the inn.

This is a relatively small coaching inn that makes an ideal place for rest and overnight stays. Here your Sims can have a horse shod and leave it in the care of the tavern staff, visit the bathhouse, and play cards. In my vision, local villagers from the surrounding settlements also come here to exchange news and share a mug of beer.

The inn has two common rooms: one a bit more upscale, the other simpler (in medieval inns, common rooms were the norm — everyone slept there regardless of social standing, though nobles could sometimes buy out a room for the night, forcing everyone else to sleep outside). I decided not to torment the Sims and made rooms for two price categories. There are also rooms for the owners and their staff.

The lot has the Bar trait — and in my opinion, the bar is pretty much the only public lot type that works properly in the game. To make the Bar trait function, I placed a TV and a music player styled as a lute in a hidden corner. If the music player feels too anachronistic to you, you can simply hide it in the same corner with the TV.

If you wish, the lot can be converted into a restaurant: the kitchen is already there, you just need to replace the hearth with a chef’s station and add a host stand and a waiter station (@simverses  has excellent medieval versions of these items). But I can’t stand how restaurants work in the game, so almost all of my food-related lots are, unfortunately, bars.
