This tool was created to help me identify and remove hairs and other CAS part items that had really high poly counts, to help me keep my game running more smoothly.
It was actually created in 2023, but then life happened, and my son and I never got to releasing it publicly. (Just to be clear, my son coded this, and is the programmer.) Fortunately, @simlicious noted correctly that the code has a permissive license and uploaded it so others can make use of it.
This tool is considered a WIP, which is why we never officially released it previously.
Some important notes and the download link under the cut.
The current file ONLY works in Windows. Tested in Windows 10 primarily. It may work on other versions of windows, but you will need a windows emulator for it to work on any other platform. (Have at least one report that it works fine in Linux with WINE.)
It will ONLY work on package files. As with the other tool, it's no use to you if you are working with sims3pack files.
It will be useless on merged files. If you drag and drop a merged file, it will still give you results, but please note that it gives you results by filename and not by 'resource ID' or 'resource tag'. So on a merged file you'll just get all the polycounts within that file. There'll just be more of them.
It will also ONLY work with CAS part items. It specifically searches for the 'Body Geometry File' aka GEOM tag inside the package files. Non-CAS items store their poly vertex information in a different tag. (This is part of why it's considered unfinished.)
It's intended for drop and drag, and will work with large numbers of files. Just keep the .exe on your desktop, select all the .package files you want it to scan, and then drop them all onto the .exe file. Results will display in the command line window.
This tool will also output a .csv file with the information directly to your desktop. (It always goes to the desktop, regardless of where you place the .exe file.) The .csv file will be overwritten if you use the tool again, so make sure to either re-name it or copy/paste the contents into another spreadsheet before checking more files if you want to keep the data.
If you have any issues with using it on CAS part items, please follow this link: https://github.com/kitlith/sims3-rs/issues and create a new issue. (You'll need a github account to do so, but it's free!)
And as a reminder, Ktar is NOT the programmer. This is a tool made by my son, who doesn't play sims and isn't on tumblr or simblr.cc. So reporting things to the Github is his preferred method for anyone reporting things about this tool.

Okay, so this is a rarity for me to share a mod or tool on my main tumblr, but... I never used the old save cleaner I knew about because I didn’t want to lose all my sims custom memories, photographs, travel data, etc.
This save cleaner has options, and I only used the options for deleting portraits, thumbnails, and generated images. My save file size went from 1.07gb to less than 500mb. NO JOKE. I loaded up the save to test that it would work and it did, and some of the portraits in the relationship tab were empty, but regenerated as I watched, and I saved again to test it. The new save file size was STILL under 500mb.
Apparently the game saves all your old family portraits, lot thumbnails, and images it generated for things that didn’t get used and just never deletes them.
Hey.. so, this is a super awesome screenshot. Let me tell you why.
My son, Kitlith (that’s his simself name), who is into programming, has been watching me trying to figure out what items are in Christel’s .package file for about a week now, trying to hunt down various things.
So he did some research, and created a program that compares the CC in a merged package with the CC in a folder of unmerged packages, and spits out the ones that match.
This was his test run on my .package version of my simself, Kyva. It took about 5 seconds to scan my entire CC magic/contents/packages folder and spit out all the matching files.
He’s still working on it some, but we’re hoping when he’s got it done maybe we can share it. ^-^
Note from Kitlith: I’ve actually been working on this for a while longer than this, from the very first time I saw my mom working on a manual process that looked like it could be automated -- pattern conversion.
This is the first thing I’ve actually completed, though. This currently has some limitations: Right now, I’m just finding the package files that share CASP tags with the same Instance ID and Resource Group.
I think there are a few more tags that I should be checking for stuff like patterns and skins, so I’m gonna try and figure out what I need, but in the meantime, if you all have suggestions on what I should check for, feel free to let me know.
This mod alters the speed at which the game's processing threads run, which improves the overall performance of the game
LadyDuchess Notes: Mod Updated 8 Aug 2021
Added FPS Limiter - If you use 3Booter, you may have problems using both, so you can limit the FPS with the Smooth Patch mod:
The "FPSLimit = 0" line can be adjusted if you wish to cap your FPS. It's always better to use your GPU control panel for this though if it's an option.
Added Borderless window -Â The "Borderless = 0" line can be set to 1 if you want your game to run in Borderless mode if it's set to run windowed.

Tool - Find Sims3 CC on Exported Sim Package Files
Hey y’all!
Have a gift! I didn’t create this. It was coded by my son, Kitlith. He came up with the idea to help me, and we both thought others could be helped by this tool as well.
A few disclaimers first:
1. This will only work completely for the person who CREATED the sim the tool is used on. It will not be able to identify CC you do not have.
2. This will only work if your CC is installed as .package files.
3. Most of the testing for this has been done on a PC running Windows 7 (my computer). We had at least one person test on Windows 10, but it’s possible there will be issues with other operating systems that we haven’t encountered yet.
4. We have written a text file that accompanies this tool, with instructions, and edited for clarity. PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.
5. There is a link in the text file to the source code on GitHub, and THAT is where you should report any issues you encounter with this tool. You can message me about it, but chances are I won’t be able to help you. My son is the programmer, not me. ^-^;; He doesn’t use Tumblr.
6. Last, but by no means least, this tool will be easiest for you to use if you are using CC magic for your CC. However, instructions are included for altering the search folder if you are NOT using CC magic. So again, please read the instructions.
Okay, here’s the link where you can download the tool!
I hope this will be helpful to others! It’s certainly going to make it EASY for me to answer WCIF questions for anything on my Sims.
