For āThe Triangle Known As Truxton Circleā, I curated and participated in this three-person show. The exhibit illustrates changes in DCās Ward 5 through maps, etchings and my installation.
āFountainā recreates the Truxton Circle Fountain by overlaying photographs, installing a fountain pump and suggesting the old streetcar lines that coalesced at the landscaped circle. This communityās place to rest was removed in the 1940ās as roads were remade to allow for faster car travel. Using historic photographs and large scale printing, I create eight foot banners to express the memory of the absent, namesake fountain. I also build a new fountain amplifying the sound of water. Engaging visitors, I supply narrative texts to document the neighborhoodās changing nature and act as oral historian during exhibition events.
