The Ruger Mini-Fudd-teen is what you buy when you want a semi-auto intermediate caliber rifle, but the SKS is for commies and “no one needs” an AR-15.

This is what you buy when you don’t actually care about the right to bear arms.

This is what you buy when you want something to pop off a few rounds in the woods to celebrate popping off a few rounds in your sister.

This is what you buy when you have a crippling addiction to a mediocre-at-best 80s TV series.

A gun known and loved for two things and two things only: killing Hitler and being James Bond’s weapon of choice after being called a little bitch because of his previous gun. Sure, the baseline Walther PP is notable for being a fairly successful design and inspiring a ton of copies (among them the Makarov PM, FEG PA-63, and Bersa Thunder) but that’s really nothing more than first-mover advantage. Back in the ‘20s and ‘30s you didn’t have a whole lot of choices when it came to double-action semi-autos so you worked with what you had.

It’s straight blowback, which means shooting it isn’t exactly “fun” unless you hate your hands for some reason. There’s a damn good reason you don’t see this kind of design used on anything bigger than pocket-pistol calibers - they’re a lot rougher than the short recoil action you see on 9x19 and bigger handguns.

The capacity is equal to or barely over most revolvers’ (6 or 7 rounds depending on caliber). 

Contrary to Major Boothroyd’s assertion that the delivery is “like a brick through a plate glass window” none of the calibers available are all that impressive (>inb4 “muh One True Caliber”).
