1. How did you first get into writing fanfic, and what was the first fandom you wrote for? What do you think it was about that fandom that pulled you in?
A random friend at highschool started talking to me aout Harry Potter fanfic and I was like huh that sounds interesting I guess?? And so I made use of ye old google machine and stumbled across fanfiction.net and fictionalley.org. I'm pretty sure I started writing fic for HP not long after I started reading it (this was in 2006). And honestly, i think that fic breathed new life into Harry Potter for me. I went through a period of (shamefully) thinking i was too old and too cool for it LMAO but fanfiction helped me remember that it was actually fucking beautiful. And it was so big!! there were 300k+ fic on ffn then, and HP fandom has always been a place where imagine knows no bounds (which was unfortunate for a 14 year old tbh) so there was always something new and interesting (and potentially horrifying) to discover.
3. For each of the fandoms, what were your favorite characters to write?
I am not going to touch on every fandom I've ever written for here because we would be here a million years but i will do Hannah's greatest hits!
Harry Potter - Lily Evans hands down forever and always amen
Naruto - Sakura Haruno my hero my love
Bleach - Rangiku Matsumoto what a creature of beauty and alcohol
Star Wars - Kyp Durron a mess of humanity
Percy Jackson - this one is a tie between the world's dweebiest hero Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase, Queen of the World
Grisha - Alina Grumpycat Starkov. It'd be the Darkling for sheer passive aggressive punctuation reasons, but it's impossible to write shit from his POV, what an asshole
in SoN it talks about the empathy link being suppressed, and I don't think they mentioned it after the dream or w.e.
