JONATHAN!!! of course i've spent my time since finishing the season recently going through your blog, but just overall, i'd love to know what you thought about volume one?! especially the jonathan/byers of it all if you'd like to share!!!!!!! <3
sathana bestie hi !!!!!!!!! hope ur groovin <33
i typed a more lengthy response to this b4 nd tumblr just. nuked it so i’ll just say that while yes this season has numerous problems and bits that i’m not the biggest fan of (hello russia plot, hello stranger things’ patented oddly written bullying, hello stancybaitgate (no offence intended to my stancy mutuals lov y’all)) this season is a MAJOR step-up from s3. like a HUMONGOUS improvement tbh
highlights from the top of my head:
max’s storyline was done so much more respectfully than i was expecting and genuinely made me cry i love her so much
robin and nancy are soooooooo autistic and fruity this season it’s a blessing
murray and joyce being comedic besties (and making their storyline worthwhile)
eddie and steve are two different flavours of off the fucking walls and i love that for them
i love seeing el’s development as she grows up !!! i just wish that she didn’t get thrown into the deep end of high school
the gore effects this volume were simply chef’s fuckin kiss and greatly appealed to the deranged little horror fanatic in me
continuing on from that, vecna/henry creel was soooooooo creepy and cool i think he’s an awesome villain overall (and much better than some of the other human ones in the show 👀)
and finally. my boy. my bestest boy in the whole wide world. jonathan honeypie byers my fucking beloved. i’m glad that he had more of an introspective storyline than he had last season (and an unfair amount in s2 tbh) and we actually have scenes where he’s the primary focus (if only for a little while). i’m overjoyed he has argyle to be there for him, even if he’s a little misguided at times and doesn’t think things through, because jonathan needs and deserves ppl to be in his corner; he deserves a support system and ppl who care abt him. jonathan’s outfits have also slapped this season, loving all the fruity shirts he’s been wearing. and unpopular opinion maybe, but i also rly like his hair !!!! it’s like an overgrown shaggy version of his s1 hair which i appreciate immensely.
overall i wish that the cali storyline had more screentime (also more el too) in all honesty; i want more big brother byers moments!!!! also more joyce/family interactions, given that the s4 interactions between her and jonathan were limited and not super great. i’m also praying that the love triangle nonsense that’s been abruptly rehashed for s4 (which i’d thought we’d moved way past in season 3??? hello) doesnt shit all over his character development, same going for nancy and steve too; if we’re doing this then for the love of fuck please just give us stoncy. i know they won’t but like. please
rounding off tho, i don’t think that the og jonathan that likeminded jon stans prefer i.e the original characterisation of jonathan, from s1 (ya know: perceptive, responsible, sensitive, artistic, self-aware, passionate, ambitious, stalwart) would rly be very happy with this s4 variant. i’ve seen some ppl view some of his scenes where he’s high off his mind as kind of sad? and i can’t help but compare his lack of awareness and how uninvolved he seems (initially, that is) to how hands-on and “take charge” he used to be (i only put that in quotation marks bc i don’t think that phrase greatly applies to him the majority of the time, since he’s not rly your hopper-esque macho male protag). like when joyce asked him what was wrong with him when he was asking “what’s going on” and repeating the things told to him (processing brand new info under an already influenced mind ofc), that just keeps coming back to me as s1!jonathan asking the same thing to his current self ya know?? like idk if the two met i feel that s1!jonathan would be kind of disappointed in what’s happened to him, if not understanding of his s4!self’s circumstances and also kind of thankful that he’s not as on-edge. hm. much to think abt (or write a fanfiction about 👀)
anyways woah i don’t mean to natter on so much in this reply but i hope that, if it makes sense I mean, u like it or at least see where i’m coming from ?? it’s late <3
OK HELLO, I HAVE SLEPT AND AM SOMEWHAT MORE COHERENT. MANY THOUGHTS BUT THESE ARE MY MOST PERSISTENT 1.) i was gutted, but i think i really like the choice for aunt may's death. the breathtaking moment where all the peters realize they've been told the same thing before witnessing their parent figure DIE in what they're sure is their fault, the grief of these deaths leading to their new life, peter having this 'rebirth' in his final movie since we never get this moment/can maybe assume never had that uncle ben moment, is like. IDK I CAN APPRECIATE THAT. i'd love to know what you thought about it!!
2) THAT BITTERSWEET ENDING. HELLO. IT WAS PERFECT??? LEAVING THE DOOR WIDE OPEN FOR PETER RECONCILING WITH MJ AND NED BUT HE'S GONNA TAKE SOME TIME FIRST AND JUST DO HIS THING ... QUIETLY LOVELY.
3.) tobey and andrew were FANTASTIC, but as someone who 'grew up' w/ andrew, i need like. every minute to bawl over him getting the conclusion to his story that he never got to before, some insight into his life post-gwen's death, his HAIR, and just!!! him!!! the validation of seeing him loved by the theatre and on-screen after a rough treatment was just everything. HE SAVED MJ. HE GOT HER IN TIME. LIKE. I AM AT PEACE.
4.) tobey/andrew were .... like??? their vibes??? maybe??? yes??? 👀
5.) and i just!!! liked this angle of The Final Spidey villain firstly being all of them but the objective of winning being through helping them and giving them another chance. and how that kind of = peter's mistakes with the spell and altering the world in the first place and the second chance he finds himself with at the end of the movie. it was just really refreshing and i love how it tied into aunt may's death and the sentiment of what she stood for never dying was just 😭❣️
I THINK THAT'S IT FOR NOW LMAO THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME RAMBLE IN YOUR INBOX, REMUS!!! and for your glorious no way home tag which i've finished looking through this morning with my tea like i'm reading the newspaper. cheers to a fantastic conclusion and all three spideys getting the love they deserve. 💌
I'M HONESTLY SURPRISED YOU'RE COHERENT AT ALL BECAUSE I CERTANLY WASN'T. From the moment I walked out of the room to the moment I went to sleep, all I could say to my sister was, "oh my god" and "Andrew Garfield" on a loop.
1) I absolutely agree with you. As much as I was heartbroken over Aunt May, it was done so perfectly that it felt... not right, but it felt like it had to happen, you know? And it carried her message on far stronger than it would've had she not died when she said it. It was very painful to watch them all have the realization when the "with great power comes great responsibility" line came up, and it was so incredibly, tragically beautiful.
2) IT WAS SO BITTERSWEET IN ALL THE BEST WAYS. I can't wait to see how it continue but oh my god that was such a perfect ending for the time being, and I really, truly do love that Tom's!Peter is simply taking time for himself to figure out what to do and where his life is going to take him now rather than wallow or spiral down a bad path. This is good for him, to heal and to, as you put it, be reborn in a way.
3) I could not agree more, everything about Andrew being back on screen was so good. His hair definitely deserves a mention. There was not a better feeling though than when the cinema screamed the first time he took his mask off, and then all collectively gasped/cheered/cried when he caught MJ. I am not okay and am not sure I ever will be again. But at the same time, I'm healed and at peace as well. You could just SEE that Andrew felt the redemption and healing of that scene too, like... he really needed this movie as much as we all did.
4) Oh my god the vibes between Tobey and Andrew were off the charts and I'm just still not over them?? What the hell was that?? Guys???
5) Ahhh yes!! "Healing" all of the villains in the end was just fantastic, and I totally agree with you, once again!! Like, Tom's!Peter could absolutely have just turned around and sent them all back, let them die, and forgot about his mistake with the spell but that wouldn't have been fair, because he's the one who messed up, so he had to fix it, and he did. God, he truly did, he even made it so much better by helping them and making sure they didn't die at all and that was just so !!! He really did keep Aunt May's message close to his heart ❤️
You can ALWAYS feel free to ramble in my inbox, Sathana, I love every moment of it always!! I love the idea of you just sitting there scrolling my tag with a cup of tea like it's the morning paper, thank you for that. I will most definitely cheers to that, and to the future of our spideys! 💗

I hope my Klaus loving babes aren’t online rn lmao
I adore Klaus and I think he’s great, and all the Hargreeves are near and dear to my heart but I think fandom woobifies him a lot and excuses him for a lot of his behavior. All the Hargreeves are flawed and traumatized and they all lash out against each other, and I think sometimes a lot of people who’ve chosen their white fave of the show stans tend to go with the idea of “klaus right, everyone else wrong” or only think about his side of things (and obviously not every stan! But a good chunk of what I saw in the tags).
It’s kind of like how when s2 came out I saw a lot of people talking about how awful Ben was for taking over his body and depriving him of his autonomy and how much it sucks that it was played off as a joke. Which, yes, true and fair, but then they’d also not talk Klaus blatantly not manifesting Ben to his siblings (or at all really unless he needed him to cheat at a card game or something) or treat it as a joke or if it was talked about, it’s focused again on Klaus because “poor Klaus brought back Ben and felt guilty so it’s hard for him emotionally to manifest him”. And idk, it just rubs me the wrong way and! It’s not something I feel when I watch the show and it’s why I adore him because the show - for better or worse - if it does things as a joke vs seriously for them two they do it pretty evenly across the board but fandom doesn’t act like it and that makes it so that sometimes I have to just love Klaus from afar.
Send me a “ 🔥 “ for an unpopular opinion.

I found this as a was clearing out old USB drives. An original story featuring a vampire hunter and made up set of gods that I never finished but I do want to eventually get back to. Two paragraphs but also, no one has names :/
She did not remember what her life was like before her mother had been turned. It was a dream-like blur of kisses, smiles and wordless lullabies. It felt so sacchine and candy cotton sweet that she could not be sure that any of it was real, an invention of a grieving child.
After was a different story. After, her mother had rarely touched her or her brother and when she did, it was always quick and fleeting. She showed [name] how to jam the bathroom door with a chair then locked herself away every night. At first, she managed to hold in her tears in their presence. But eventually, there was not a day that [name] did not see her mother break down into sobs.

HI EZRAH HOPE YOU'RE DOING WELL LET ME HIT U WITH 1, 4, AND 25 FOR THE FUN META ASKS :-)
HI SATHANA THANK YOU I HOPE YOU’RE DOING WELL TOO <3
1. Tell us about your current project(s) – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it?
I’m currently working on my fic for the Stranger Things Big Bang! It’s gonna be primarily Robin/Nancy which I haven’t written before but I love them and I’m super excited. (There’s gonna be some background Stonathan and probably Elmax as well, due to: I love making things gay.) I haven’t gotten lots of actual writing done yet but I’ve got a detailed outline and I’m about ready to start writing for real :)
4. Share a sentence or paragraph from your writing that you’re really proud of (explain why, if you like)
I think the writing I’m proudest of is breathing’s just a rhythm, which was difficult to write and very personal to me. I’m especially proud of this passage, which was actually what I wrote first despite being towards the end, and then the rest of the fic sort of grew around it
“Oh, sweetheart,” murmurs Joyce. “I know it’s not easy.”
Easy is a word El knows. Not from her dad—though he would have taught it to her if she’d asked him, would have spelled it out for her with a smile—but from her papa, who used to use it frequently. This is easy, Eleven, he would say. Come on, we practiced this, remember? And then she would concentrate even harder, screwing up her face with the force of it, because only stupid people can’t do easy things and she was never stupid.
She knows what it means to not be easy, too. Forcing the demogorgon back into the Upside Down wasn’t easy, and neither was surviving in the woods. Leaving Kali wasn’t easy and closing the gate wasn’t easy and searching through Billy’s memories wasn’t easy. She’s had more than her fair share of not easy, she thinks.
But this doesn’t feel not easy. This feels impossible, and that is a word that her dad taught her—impossible, adjective, I-M-P-O-S-S-I-B-L-E. Something you can’t do, even if you really want to, even when you try your hardest. Saving Hop was impossible, Joyce had told her. Living without him feels impossible, too.
25. What part of writing is the most fun?
The dialogue!! Writing and rewriting dialogue to try to make it all as in-character as possible while still telling the story I want to tell is so much fun to me and the main thing I write for :)
17, 21, 23, and 28!! :-) 💗💓💖
omg it’s my fave 💗💓💖
17. favourite animated film/tv show?
okay, forever respect to Miraculous Ladybug and Ever After High, but I gotta go with Young Justice... seasons one and two at least. Never watched anything past that (and probably won’t)
21. favourite end in fictional media?
In actuality? Breakfast Club because I’m basic. My automatic thought?
...you know how Sam and Cat ends with Cat getting arrested?
23. favourite part of being alive?
Mm, that’s hard. Everything, pretty much? Being able to experience emotion, being able to experience the amazing parts of this world- being able to create, being able to just... being able to see the world as it’s built and as it changes and know that every moment is part of history. That’s my favourite part of being alive.
28. favourite superhero?
Jonathan Byers 💖
ask me my favourites!
