Savor the creamy and rich flavor of these homemade buttercream truffles. They make wonderful gifts for your loved ones or the ideal way to sate your cravings for chocolate.
Ingredients: 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips. 1/2 cup heavy cream. 1/4 cup unsalted butter. 2 cups powdered sugar. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/4 teaspoon salt. Cocoa powder or powdered sugar for dusting optional. Sprinkles or chopped nuts for decoration optional.
Instructions: Mix the heavy cream, unsalted butter, and semi-sweet chocolate chips in a bowl that is safe to use in the microwave. The mixture should be microwaved in 30-second increments, stirring after each one, until the butter and chocolate are completely melted and the mixture is smooth. Add the salt, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar and stir until well combined. The mixture ought to get creamy and thick. Once the mixture is firm enough to handle, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for about two hours. Scoop out small portions of the mixture and roll them into bite-sized truffle balls once it's firm. For this, you can either use your hands or a spoon. For a nice finish, you can optionally coat the truffles in powdered sugar or cocoa powder, or you can top them with chopped nuts or sprinkles. To set, place the truffles on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper and chill for an additional half hour. The truffles are ready to be eaten once they have set. Any leftovers should be refrigerated in an airtight container.
