This meaning if an ally says they're now a good ally just because theyve been taught something by one person . They arent. Heres why: 1. All allies are good allies. no one is better or worse. Everyone has their flaws. Everyone has their highlights. 2. everyone person is different. Everyone has their own feelings/views/experiences/preferances/knowledge of the thing that someone can be an ally for. Not all trans people can have/want surgeries. Not every lesbian is a super butch woman with daddy issues. Not every POC looks like a POC. so by "learning" from one source theyre not opening themselfs to all experiances. Claiming youre an ally because you like Beyonce or changed your profile pic to a filter supporting gay marrige once. Isnt being an ally necessarily. Its like cliaming you can say the N word just cause youre cousins black friend said you could. 3. Once again everyone has different experiences and feelings in their lives. Sometimes its alot different than what others feel. Sometimes the info you get is only applicable to that one person or their country or their respective veiws. Their will always be that small part of a certain demographic of people who go to the extreme or show no signs of relating with the rest. Some people are the reason groups of people get negative stereotypes like religous hate groups or people from florida who do stupid stuff with alligators. Some trans people belive that despite them being trans theyre still wholy the sex they were assigned at birth. Some countries allow samesex marrige. Some countries have a death sentence for being homosexual. ANY ALLY IS A GOOD ALLY. EVERY ALLY CAN ALWAYS LEARN. EVERY ALLY CAN ALWAYS MAKE MISTAKES. EVERY ALLY CAN ALWAYS HELP OTHERS BE HEARD. EVERY ALLY CAN ALWAYS BE THE ONE TO HELP OTHERS LEARN. a true ally will always let those who need a voice have a voice. A true ally will understand that even if theyve learned different from somewhere else that person is still speaking their truth. A true ally will respect the wishes of those who ask. A true ally will help raise up thise in need to the level everyone belongs.
