this is the first thing i have sketched in a magillion years but i am deliriously in love with him to a degree that i refuse to take questions about so now you have to look at him for a while. am still tweaking (in general, but also the way i want to draw him, oh ho ho) & i am interpreting his outfit as vaguely Tudor shaped but made from molded rubber/vinyl that is gasketed together strategically so it appears seamless. modern playing cards tend to have a plastic or varnish coating & also i think he should be absurdly sexy like Princess Daphne from Dragon's Lair. i imagine the jacket weighs 16 pounds & smells like a tire shop ✨ his pauldrons look like velveeta shells 'n' cheese...

my dual curses are "holding my sketchbook real stupid so i draw too close to the edges of the papers" & "getting tired eyeball before i finish the hands" a hallmark of the craft. i also need to figure out the front closures, the configuration of lines on his jacket in the sprites reminded me of the grid on the rules card for bridge (hmm) specifically.

it is always relief to hear familiar voices, if i may be maudlin for a tick, & there was something momentous in an encapsulated way in recalling how different my visual perception was at the time of the previous update - sometimes i feel like these periods of sickness & change chip away at me & i lose a little more of myself each time, but in reality it is less like that & more like being built, just strangely... even if some of the old parts of me are inaccessible - 🧱 - the additions are where i will live. maybe they are not up to code, but nothing lasts forever.

i received my batch of 4 squishy fuzzballs the day before the update so now i have quintuplets. the one in the middle is really hamming it up...
