I've finally purchased the necessary 18 note mechanism I need to fix my Ballerina/Leap! music box!

Problem is, it came with a faulty spring in the mechanism, and now, the entire 18 note musical movement needs to be replaced. In recent months, I've tried contacting Trousselier for help, but they never responded. I went to a clockworks shop in Dallas, run by a man who said that French companies can get snooty/stubborn about these sorts of things. I hope that's not always the case. There are plenty of wonderful French people out there. But regardless, if you decide to invest in any of Trousselier's music boxes (not just Ballerina's, but any of theirs), it looks like I'm going to have to recommend caution.

For those who might not know, this is a real life replica of Felicie's music box as seen in L'atelier Animation's first film, Ballerina (2016), called Leap! (2017) in the USA. It’s animated counterpart is pictured here:

 This box includes an excerpt from Tchiakovsky's Swan Lake, particularly Scene 20a. The music box was made by a French company called Trousselier, which specializes in musical and jewelry boxes; the kinds one might find in a bedroom. Special thanks to my wonderful friend, Eliot from Dublin, who managed to get this to me, as a Christmas gift!
